Two years ago I had a flood in my lower level due to failure of my sump pump. Southtown (Brent) came out right away and replaced the pump with a Zoeller M53 pump. I found out later that this is an excellent pump (one of the best) and so I was very appreciative. Recently, I have been in contact with Vern, who I believe owns the company, and he has given me some advice on backup sump pumps. I rate this company highly, based on these experiences.

Brent stopped out after a couple of other plumbers told us what they thought was wrong, without doing anything to fix it. Brent was different. He searched out and found everything that was leaking, explained and showed us what was happening, and then fixed it all in one visit. Would definitely recommend them.

Brent did come out very promptly for a leaking pipe emergency. Only problem is that in order to re-solder a new joint where the pipe was leaking, he sawed out some drywall and in the process cut the phone cable inside the premises. I knew it wasn't a co-incidence that there was NO dial-tone NOR Internet as soon as Brent started. CenturyLink phone repair came out later in the day and gave me the cut phone wire as a present. This set me back $140 from CenturyLink to wire a temporary jack in the utility closet above where Brent cut the phone wire and then run a patch cord to my main phone jack. I will also have to pay CenturyLink another $100 to install new wiring internal in the walls from the temporary jack that was re-wired to my main phone jack on the external wall. So when all was said an done, I spent $140 for the leaking pipe repair to SouthTown Plumbing and $240 to CenturyLink to repair the damage done by Brent to the phone line. When I explained all this to "Hap" the owner, he said SORRY - you take your chances when you use SouthTown Plumbing services because they can't know if they are cutting a phone line when they do their repairs. Haps say his insurance has a deductible that is too high to cover my $240 loss on the phone line repair - so just lump it and be grateful they didn't do even worse damage to the premises.
