Butterflies fill the Children’s Garden while carefully nurtured local plants thrive in the care of a dedicated team of botanists, always ready to share their passion – and their tips for cultivation or flower-photography with visitors.

Another day excursion could lead to the Boothbay Railway Village and Auto Museum where children of all ages delight in a ride on an authentic steam train (Maine’s only) or sitting at the wheel of a restored Model T. The steam train travels a 10-minute loop around the village, with passengers riding meticulously detailed, open-window coaches.
