my family really enjoyed Stein while visiting Leavenworth. great choices for kids and adults and the beer selection was extensive. we all loved the draft root beer and pretzel with beechers cheese sauce. super friendly staff as well.

In another town this place might fit right in, but it seemed out of place in a town like this. A high tech brew pub in an old fashioned style Bavarian town. The inside was decorated to seem old and industrial but it just didn’t seem to vibe with the town to me. Don’t get me wrong, some of my favorite tap rooms back home are the new digital menu high tech style, just not the type that should be in a town like this. There are 55 beers on tap so finding something you like here shouldn’t be hard, but then again they charge you for each sample, so one might not want to even try. And the digital beer list, which added to the high tech out of place feel….. Had such small type ( the smallest I have ever seen on one of these ) one could hardly tell from a glance what they had. You ordered at the bar, no table service. And because I couldn’t see the menu very well I paid $13.50 for a pint of beer on the recommendation of the bartender! I felt a little taken advantage of to be honest, he should have mentioned how much it cost. Oh well…. When on vacation we don’t let the small things bug us. Probably would not return again though, too many places there to try.

The beer selection could be better, but for a tourist town it's probably pretty impressive for most visitors. For how busy it gets they could definitely use a set of menus that you can see before you need to order, it would definitely help the lines. The staff when we were there were friendly and knowledgeable. A little more modern compared to other places in town. But it fits in with most of tbe businesses that have opened in the last 5 years or so.
