Nothing like the food they served the first few months of opening. The food was very attractive, but lacked flavor. It was four of us so we tried different items. The greens had no seasoning, the fried chicken taste like Banquet frozen dinner, the gumbo had no flavor, the cornbread was dry, the potato salad had mayo and loads of mustard with paprika, the mac and cheese is like a Kraft Velveta with melted cheddar cheese on top. The water was great though, I mean it was ice cold and I enjoyed it a lot.

You absolutely must treat yourself to a meal in the Sweet Home Cafe. You will be pleased with the selection as well as the taste. The prices vary from moderate on up; depending how much you eat. I had three courses including desert( banana pudding) Amazing!!! For Thanksgiving Day 2017 they sold meals for pick up if you didn't want to cook yourself.

portion sizes definitely need to be smaller especially since you can take food out of the resaurant and thus less expensive...like one less rib section and it could/should $11.95 not $16.95. i couldnt eat the portion i had...drinks $4 and ottled water $3.60....thats outrageous!

The mueseum was amazing the food not so much. The server of the food seemed like she did not want to be there. They really should hire people with a certain level of professionalism. I should not know that you could care less about your job. I ordered from "the south" I got fried chicken collard greens and mac n cheese. The food was slightly above room temperature. I prefer my food to be hot. The mac and cheese was awful. It was pretty bland. The chicken was ok. It did have flavor but was just ok. The greens weren't to bad but I found something stuck to a piece of one. I was hoping for a better experience in regards to the food. Also if you are a vegetarian you will only be able to eat sides.

Does not have carryout. How can you have a restaurant in a museum and not have to go containers? What if an individual isn't hungry at the time. The establishment should have to go containers.
