We loved the atmosphere. We were just looking for somewhere to get a cold drink after wondering the city, when I local saw us looking at the map for the Terminal and said don't waste your time with those places, go there instead and explained how to get there. So glad we took his advice. My friend and I loved our drink and was glad for the more sophisticated location avoiding the normal sloshy behavior at the on the street bars or bar and grill type places. Pricing for what we are used to down south, but feel like it was totally worth the upscaled vibe and comfort. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city.

Rude, unfriendly women at front of house. Despite what you read in the New York Times, and many other reviews, this place DOES still have a dress code -just for men- after 4pm. My partner was neatly dressed in linen shorts on an 83 degree day, and they turned him away with utter glee. He had made the offer to dress up more earlier that day, yet I reassured him that ever review I had read said there was no dress code anymore. We had made the trip especially to see the famed bar, and the disappointment was pretty heavy, but it was their enjoyment of upholding this rule at 4:15 and telling us to leave that really stung. It was busy inside and I'm sure the bar does not care when I say that it put me off from ever returning. Yet the attitude displayed by these nicely-dressed young women was far more uncouth, far dirtier, than even the grottiest pair of shorts. It was below them, and the business they represent.

They've ruined it. What used to be a relaxed convivial escape in the midst of Manhattan is now an overcrowded, overpriced and mediocre bar. It's not special. The decor is the same, but they've lost the essence of why this was a great NY bar, and part of that was the exclusivity. All that's missing is the screens of endless sports. Filled with braying office workers paying over the odds for poorly mixed drinks and slow service. What's worse than an unstirred Old Fashioned? An unstirred old fashioned for $18 that takes 15 minutes served in an echoing Who Can Shout the Loudest competition.

Very expensive but pretty damn good drinks with a traditional bent. OK food. The best part is being able to wow someone new to New York with its semi-hidden gorgeous decor.

Great environment, but don't go on Mondays. Over the course of the evening three items we tried to order were completely out. Apparently they get restocked Tuesdays 😉
