In town for a 5K over the weekend.  Very pleased with the Carter Lodge.  The view from the room (we were in room 2) was amazing.   The building is older (1940s) but updated, kept up & well maintained.  Rooms were clean and comfortable with mini-fridge, TV, table & plenty of space to relax after hiking & running all day.  The yard has a corn hole game, grill and numerous chairs for relaxing.  Ice & popcorn (50 cents) are available as is coffee in the mornings.  There is also a collection of board games & magazines available for guests to use/read.
The lodge is in walking distance of everything.  And very close to the park entrance.  Menus & flyers for most places i the village are available in the lobby.  
The owners are fantastic!  When we called to confirm our late arrival (10p) they called back later to tell us most restaurants closed around 9p so to be sure & eat supper before arriving in town.  Very thoughtful of them!  
I would highly recommend Carter Lodge & know if we ever get back to the area that we will absolutely stay there again.

Standard hotel amenities. Clean and comfortable. The view of the river is excellent with plenty of chairs for relaxing.

Very nice place and in a very nice town. I am friends with the owners they are very nice and kind they come out and talk with there guess.
