When I walked in the office door I was greeted with a musty odor that I imagined had been lingering in the office for a long time. The staff were not professional in appearance (scrubs with visible body tattooing), but did make eye contact and were conversational.  I filled out my paperwork, omitting the social security number.  I never provide it at doctors' offices.  None of them have an issue with me leaving it off, except this office. Yes, the one with the run down appearance, musty odor in the air, and the nonprofessional looking staff.  Had it been a nice office, I may have relented and given it.  I took a pass and wished them well. It's sad though.  This area is lacking good providers.  If you're a top-notch psychiatrist and looking to get established. This area is ripe for the picking.

Rude staff. All good until they detect ANY hint of dissatisfaction and they pounce, presumably because they have seen it so many times and know where its going that they just cut right to it. Immediately classify you as trouble for trying to discuss an issue. Nasty facilities, overcrowded with a bunch of other dissatisfied people. This is a patient mill and an employee mill-- a constant churning but turning the revenue so why should they care? Oh yeah, its to help people. Riiiight.

AT the Southpoint Location: My appointment was set for 2:00pm-2:30, but the doctor was not ready to see me until 2:45. Realizing at 2:30 it was late and needed to return to work soon, I requested a refund of copay since I needed to return to to work in 20 minutes. When asking for a refund they charged me a $25 cancellation fee, even though I had sat through the duration of my allotted appointment time and had arrived early. The staff was completely unprofessional and rude, and said this was their policy that I was walking out on my appointment, even though this was outside the appointment time "because the doctor was now ready to see me" outside the window I had been appointed. They explained they cannot control others going over their appointment times and when the doctor asked if I needed more than 20 minutes with him to squeeze me 45 minutes later, I explained I needed to be able to drive back to work and he scoffed. The staff treats the office as a bar back of a restaurant and other existing patients told me they are never timely with appointment usually waiting 1-2 hours for their set appointment times. I accepted the $25 cancellation fee and WILL NOT be going here.

This office recently added Brian Beardsley to its team, he is by far the best mental health professional I have encountered over the past 5 years. He is professional, and extremely knowledgable. He has a passion for helping others and it is obvious from the moment you meet him. He doesn't feed you a bunch of stereotypical lines or force "conditions" on you for the purpose of making you come back repeatedly to milk your bank account. I will not see anyone else after my visits with him. The office itself has not given me any issues over my 4 visits, phone calls have all been returned and I've been greeted courteously every visit. I recommend setting up an appointment with Brian if you need any kind of mental health assistance.
