I was researching a place for my dad. I stumbled upon all of these bad reviews. I have a friend in the business and she knew all about this place. She said do not take your father here. They are always late with medication, they have bad attitudes and are severely understaffed. What she told me about this place, is pretty much covered in most of these reviews. No way I would take my father here. Beware.

The medical care providers, especially Amaretta, Wanda, Joy, and Chantal, were so good to my mom while she stayed at Heartland. Every rehabilitation/medical facility needs workers like these to function well. I always knew that my mom would be taken good care of when these ladies were working. The wound care nurse, Heather, was a great teacher and helped the family to understand necessary care of my mom's amputated foot area. I hope these ladies know how valuable they are to the patients, their families, and the health care profession. Thank you to all the other workers who provide health care services too ...

Unless you have doctor's orders that are exactly spelled out the way your loved one should be cared for ... it will fail. They are legally bound by these orders and cannot and will not deviate from them. If your loved one is ordered nacotics and has lost their appetite and refuses therapy and food (they can't force them to eat) ... they will continue to serve up these narcotics per "doctors orders" or if the addict you now see in your loved one still wants it... they legally have to give it to them. Once insurance stops paying them... they want to know where you would like your loved one transported to. Great system. My mother will never be the same if not die. My mother was clearly in the wrong place for rehab.

This place is absolutely terrible. My friends mom goes here. Nothing but problems. The staff is short handed and rude. Ive seen it first hand. I would never want my family to go there. Look elsewhere.

I am moving my mom to a new facility. Please trust that these reviews are accurate and this facility will be hearing from our lawyer. My mom is a diabetic who had sepsis and had 3 major surgeries in 4 days when she was in I.c.u and is in major pain. This facility is always understaffed and makes excuses on why they give medications late. I waited with my Mom as she called for help 5 times and we sought after someone 3 times. The two times I went into the nurses station the nurse one texting on her cell phone and still never came into my Moms room. My moms blanket which they use for transportation or to help shift them in their bed and was bunched up in her wound in her spine from her surgery. I finally helped her until I was able to get it out without hurting her and the nurse finally came in after two and half hours. The day nurse Lise told my Mom she didn't trust her and that she needed to chill out because she had 23 patients!!!! Who the hell gives an Lpn 23 patients. Meanwhile the pain management doctor came in and made a mistake and canceled all my Mothers pain medication. The doctor swears he didn't do it, and I don't know if Lise had anything to with it, but she never called and checked with the doctor to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Instead she let my mother go through physical therapy without any pain medication and it wasn't until the night nurse called the doctor that they realized it was a mistake. We called and filed a complaint against the nurse and she came in and apologized to my Mom and asked if they could start over but my Mom never answered her. So she continued to be my Mom's nurse and continued to always give pain medication late. So most of the time my mom was having to do physical therapy with the medication not fully kicked in. My mom has declined since being in this facility and hasn't walked in a month. Her pain has increased and I want answers on the care she has received and someone better give them to us. I contacted a lawyer and want this facility investigated. This is supposed to be about the patients and getting 24 hour around the clock care. The patients do not get this! Please don't send your loved ones here and make sure you thourghly research this place before you bring someone here. They treat your loved ones like they are an inconvenience and like they are just a social security number on a spread sheet. I'm having my Mom transferred to a better facility where I hope we can better manage her pain and get her rehabilitated. Listen to these reviews because they are 100% accurate.
