I said it once on yelp, I'll say it again here! The Lab has been a part of my life for going on seven years now. Even during a three year period where I moved away, the Lab didn't leave my system. In times of serious stress, I could hear my mentors talking me through it. You don't just sign up for a kick/punch/wrestle class. You get mentors, inspirational figures, supporters, friends, a personal trainer, dietitian, encouragement to set goals and stick to them... the list goes on! I started at the Lab with Professor Lebrun when I was 19 years old. I'm now 26 and feeling like I've truly came into my own as a man. A big part of this was the influence that the Lab had on me. Women and men alike, signing up for the Lab will help you in so many ways beyond the scope of what you expect to get out of the programs offered.

The level of instruction at The Lab is bar none. If you have intentions of competing in MMA this is where you are going to get the best training and instruction out there. If you have no intention of competing this is still the best place to train. You will get amazing workouts and learn how to defend yourself at the same time. The Lab offers multiple different types of classes for whatever your interested in. There is no other place out there to train that can stand up to what The Lab has to offer.

I have just finished my third lesson at the lab and I absolutely love it.  So far the class has been shown the correct form for throwing punches (jab, cross, hooks, upper cuts), switch kick, right kick, one take down, leg bar, elbow bar, and a few rolls and basic moves which serve to lay the foundation for BJJ.  Professor Chad LeBrun is both enthusiastic and knowledgeable.  Safety is paramount.  All the students are clean cut and fun to train with.  The class is a mixture of younger folks, middle age, male, and female.  I have also spoken to a few of the senior students and they were also a pleasure to meet.  There is no attitude, just a common desire to learn the different martial arts making up MMA.

I also love the fact Professor Chad opted to name the facility the lab.  As an electrical engineer I always look forward to working in the office lab.  The same now goes for training in the LAB Mixed Martial Arts Academy.

GREAT instruction given by a staff that is very qualified and truly cares!  If you are in the area and interested in MMA and/or BJJ, check this place out!!!  The head instructor is an experienced BJJ practitioner and winning Mixed Martial-Artist with years of teaching experience…superb credentials only matched by his sincere desire to help people grow.  Again, check this place out!

I have known Chad LeBrun for many years now and consider him my best friend, so yes I may be bias in writing this review, but I know Chad better than anyone. Chad and I have trained together for years and went up the ranks and journey of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu together. We trained together in Atlanta under world renown Jacare Cavalcanti and in New York City under a true legend of the Martial Arts Renzo Gracie. Chad is an awesome martial artist and is very passionate in helping people change their lives through the martial arts and fitness. If your in the Fredericksburg Virginia area and looking to get more “fit” or want to train in a realistic martial arts system, then check out “The Lab Mixed Martial Arts Academy”. Chad’s academy is a very humble, friendly and EGO FREE academy!! Something very important when seeking out a place for you or your family to train. Positive influences, awesome staff, world class instruction and a life changing activity. Fredericksburg is lucky to have Chad LeBrun. Five stars!!! :0)))
