I have known Richard Lawson for the better part of a decade. As an attorney myself I have tried more than 100 cases, all of which were criminal, and most of which were DUI, I am in a strong position to recognize a skilled and dedicated fellow practitioner.  Richard has a great reputation in the legal community, and is highly skilled as both a negotiator and a litigator. I have had the pleasure of listening to Richard do a winning closing argument in a DUI case, as well as very effectively cross-examine an arresting officer. His preparation, passion, skill and attention to detail were obvious, as was his command of the facts, the law and the courtroom. I would highly recommend anybody facing a DUI or criminal charge to talk with and hire Richard. Mr. Lawson represented me in a case back in 2010. Through his vast knowledge & experience, he was able to assist me in a way that I could not have done by myself. I recently contacted Mr. Lawson with questions about the case (which he still remembered), & I was, yet again, fully satisfied with the service he was able to provide. Richard Lawson is a well respected top tier DUI defense attorney who gets amazing results for his clients. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking to fight their DUI charge. I have watched him in trial and I have the utmost respect for him both professionally and personally.

I didn't retain this attorney for my case so take this for what it is, but I called him because of an incident involving my probation from a DUI conviction.  The issue I had was that there was a possible probation violation that occurred and I was scared.  I called him to explain the situation.  He encouraged me to move forward, tell my probation officer what happened, and take the violation on the chin so that he can represent me in court (oh and pay him $5000).  Thankfully, I didn't take his advice and I found out through my own research that the incident would not result in a violation and wouldn't be a problem.  So there's two explanations:  Mr. Lawson is either unfamiliar with this portion of DUI law, or he lied to get me to pay.  Either way, I wouldn't suggest using this firm.
