The atmosphere is good, but the food was fantastic. Service was excellent on our first visit and mediocre on our second. We enjoyed booth seating on the second visit. On the first, we were in chairs with a clear view of the very busy kitchen. The menu has some fun, quirky "lodge" options, with plenty of options to please everyone. Location is conveniently close to the Amtrak station.

Super crowded on Seahawks game day. They pack way too many people in there. Black Bute porter was very old, with a glycerin taste. They kept serving it regardless of this fact. Super aggressive bathroom attendant. Suggest you boot him. No one likes bathroom statements. Maybe better on a non game day.

My friends and I have a motto for The Lodge: "It's always something." One visit the server will be nowhere to be found (apparently the Lodge moves servers between locations - at least that's their excuse). On another, the food will be drastically different than the time before (sandwiches seem to be especially troublesome for the kitchen; once my steak salad ended up scrunched into a soup bowl). Yet another, food doesn't arrive for 45 minutes (and the server doesn't check on us, so she doesn't know). We love the beer selection, and the menu when properly prepared is great, but eventually that one-problem-per-visit got old, and we just don't go anymore. There are a lot of places to get iffy food and random service in Pioneer Square, but most of the others charge less.

Hair (long blonde)found in food. The meal was complimentary when this was brought to the attention of the manager. However, the waitress came over later and asked and then flipped her long bleached hair and simply said, "Oh.". Subsequently, my friend (who had ordered something totally different) went to pay, the waiter at the bar couldn't "find" her food so told her it was free. I went to pay for my drink and he gave me her bill. When I said it wasn't my food, he said that he would need to speak to a manager. I guess somehow he had "found" the bill. Eventually, everyone paid for their own food, but that guy's behavior totally negated the meal being comped. Besides, who would want to go to a place where they bite into a hair in their food. However, our group really enjoyed the trivia. Being in a league, we might want to go again. Regardless, the hair in the food needs to be brought to people's attention (and the rude behavior of the guy-- there were two, the taller guy was nice but the short one with the dark hair was the rude one. The manager was nice). Too bad because I was hoping to like this place due to the trivia.

Food is good, drinks are fine but nothing special, if you can get one in your first half hour. Service has been consistently terrible all 3 times across 2 of thier chain locations. I got up and left once without our group ever being acknowledged. Environment is either dead or loud depending on time of day and if a sport event is on the boob tube. I will go back if because the Lodge can handle seating bigger crowds over 8 people better than most places of this ilk but I really wish the service was accurate and not slow-mo.
