I was a member of the The Proving Ground Crossfit through it's inception until I moved to New Orleans in late 2013. I miss the camaraderie of the other gym members. Charles has a true passion for teaching and improving the skills and mobility of his members/students. I highly recommend this gym for athletes and persons trying to improve their health. It's one of the things I miss about Baton Rouge.

No drop-ins allowed and personnel fairly rude and unwelcoming after finding out you're not a new long term customer. Being a trainer, I understand not wanting to take time away from your personal clients but feel they could let that be known on their website or with a bit more tact. Maybe I should have emailed ahead of time, but, I've visited over 50 boxes across the country while traveling and this was definitely the rudest I've ever been treated. I hope this is just me because it's definitely not a part of the CrossFit culture I'm used too.

It's really the coaching staff at TPG that makes it great -- they're extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and professional. The workouts are reasonably difficult and variable, plus the coaches make sure they know your capabilities & limits, so they can help you "scale" the routines. It's a lot like having a personal trainer. I've been a member at TPG for about a year, and I've been real pleased with the results -- I'm leaner, feel stronger, and my cholesterol & triglycerides levels have improved a lot. Another positive about TPG is that the clientele tend to be very friendly and polite.
