We have been Ridge owners for 35 years and have wonderful memories.  Place still looks good but it took 2 days to get the icemaker fixed and the heat could have worked a lot  better. I noticed some new "safety " measures like a card attached to the Venetian blinds warning of child choking.  Really? The blinds were behind the stove unit.  No child could reach them.  Also,  the fireplace is now behind a thick sheet of glass. The hot water for showers must be turned all of the way to the hot end to be hot enough.  Doesn't anyone take care of their children any more?

Very close to the stagecoach lift in Heavenly ski resort. They provide a shuttle bus, and even they have a tram which is directly connected to the stagecoach lift from resort. I stayed on a suite with full size kitchen. I recommend it for family trip. They offer 2 bedroom suite, so 2 families could be accommodated. On icy road condition, w/o 4 wheel drive SUV, it's mostly impossible to get there. Very nice location for skiing, room is clean, inside parking is available.

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful, they bring anything you want to your room. The location, of course, is absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very clean and extremely roomy and they were also stocked with all of the utensils, pots, pans, glasses, cups, everything that you might need.

Stayed at Plaza. Rooms are okay,rustic decor,clean. The view at the other side of Heavenly is worth more than the property. There is a nice bar, a little deli, heated swim pool. You can get the whole spa treatment here as well. If you need to gamble or go to South Lake Tahoe there is a bus leaving every half hour.

The Ridge is fantastic. They have a hot tub in every building, and 2 of the buildings have an outside AND inside hot tub, which is honestly a lot of fun when it's 20 degrees out. Service was great, and whenever I had a question the customer service was quick to answer. There is a gate to get into the hotel area, and the guard will open it upon seeing your parking pass or hotel key. If you have outside guests visiting, or are driving with separate parties in the same room, let them know beforehand so they know who to let through. The gate was the only complaint I had about the whole experience, as it is a bit inconvenient and really doesn't provide any security. Other than that small inconvenience, the hotel is great and I highly recommend anyone stay there if given the opportunity.
