The Sculpture Center

About

Exhibiting the work of emerging sculptors in Ohio and its greater region and supporting preservation of Ohio outdoor public sculpture. Free Admission.

Story

Founded in 1989 by Bernice and David E. Davis, The Sculpture Center (TSC) is an urban non-profit arts gallery unique in the country for its dedication to the advancement of the careers of emerging sculptors of Ohio and its greater region as well as the preservation of Ohio outdoor sculpture. The Sculpture Center offers early career artists opportunities to develop experimental artwork through our unique Window to Sculpture Emerging Artist series (W2S), started by our founder in 1990, and serves as a “creative oasis” and a meeting ground where ideas and techniques are exchanged between artists from around the globe. The Sculpture Center gives artists numerous professional development opportunities including commissions for new work, exhibitions, teaching, public talks, and art sales.

Mission:
The Sculpture Center is a not-for-profit arts institution dedicated to the advancement of the careers of emerging Ohio sculptors and the preservation of Ohio outdoor sculpture as a means to provide support for artists and to effect the enrichment, education, enjoyment, and visual enhancement of the Cleveland community and greater region.

Art work exhibited in our gallery may be for sale dependent on will of the artist.

Important contemporary art space for the Cleveland scene. Nice intimate openings usually include artist presentations. Free to visit. Two spaces here with art--ask the gallery attendant to show you. Also visit the Artist Archives of the Western Reserve while you're here. They share the building.

Plenty of parking, supports local artists, interesting and thought provoking exhibitions. Short rotation times, but maybe this helps them expose more artists?

Awesome organization that supports emerging artists across the US. The current director, Anne, is a total class act, and treats artists with respect and professionalism (an unfortunate rarity in the professional gallery/art world). I love this place

A true asset for University Circle. The exhibitions are always worth visiting and the Center provides a wonderful opportunity for regional sculptors, many of whom have their first solo shows in the space. If you are in the area and interested in the arts, don't miss it.
