The Yard was fun. I went last weekend with a friend for lunch. I didn’t realize it was so large. We ate upstairs. The restaurant was festively decorated for Halloween . Everyone was so friendly and attentive even though they were very busy and there were two large groups of people being served. My friend and I did not feel like we were being ignored. The portions are huge and the food is pretty good. Nice cocktails and a vibrant atmosphere. I would go again.
Had a brunch bridal shower that I attended here and did a dessert table for. The room the Yard provided was a good size with plenty high tables and chairs. The server was very helpful. The food was excellent and hot served buffet style. They had salad, chicken and waffles, potatoes, bacon and eggs. The Yard also let us bring in desserts for the shower. I would have a party here.
Hot honey chicken and waffle sliders were okay if the chicken was seasoned it would have been better. I wanted a little more flavor from the waffle also. Was with a large party. Service was great. Bottomless mimosas were a delight.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Can I give extra points for SERVICE?? 7 Stars??? Really good food, ok mimosas but really great STAFF!!! We had some beignet pancakes and they were out of this world for sure! Everything was pretty good I must admit. But the pancakes really took the cake! Kid-friendliness: Not for brunch
I'd say I was quite disappointed with my experience here. Service was extremely slow - it took far too long for my table to get simple tasks done, like receive water, put our order in, and get our credit cards back. All of that was disappointing, and the food didn't exactly make up for it. The burrito that I got had cream cheese in it which I asked for to be removed, was under seasoned, and was not even hot when I received it.
Robust draught list and charming bartender. We were visiting the area and she had a lot of good tips. We were there in the early evening and the vibe was casual, although it got more crowded with time. Beware the jukebox: it won't give you change, so be prepared to select 60 credits worth of songs
My daughter and her friend wanted to spend some time with me for lunch. It was the first trip here for any of us. It probably will not be the last. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu items are cleverly named. The ones we tried were delicious! They didn't have a military discount available for my daughter, but they did kick up some free food to go. They didn't have to do that, but they did. There was no rush to order. I'm glad too because there's so much to chose from. I recommend kicking back and enjoying whatever you order. Our lunch outing was a success.
nice place. first time. Definitely try the grilled cheese combo's. While not a fan of tomato soup this is more of a bisque and is quite good. While not Vegan but vegetarian, I did enjoy the impossible burger grilled cheese. They did a great job of making it a flat burger to make it easy to eat.
I came to the Shadyside location expecting the same level of service and hospitality, and I was greatly disappointed. I’ve been in the service industry for the better part of a decade and have never seen a management team so grossly incapable of handing their job, but the kicker for me was that their frustration is entirely taken out on the staff. My server was terrific and I watched her be berated in front of everyone on the floor for absolutely no reason. Morale is low and it reflects in the quality of the food and service. The power tripping is abhorrent. I genuinely feel bad for anyone working at this establishment.
If I could give zero stars, I would. A group of 7 went for Sunday brunch here, and they refused to seat us. We even offered to split tables, and split tabs. They refused, as they claimed that we would “get up and talk to each other” it was truly one of the most bizarre experiences I’ve ever had.
