Perfect for those who want to work out without men watching or trainers hitting on you. Very clean and friendly environment. Never worry about what you wear or look like or do for exercise. I recommend to all of my female friends!

I LOVE This Way Ladies. I've been a member at This Way Ladies (TWL) for over 2 years. I moved to St. Louis in July 2009 and I joined this gym in December 2009 after doing online research on every gym near my house. TWL appealed to me the most so I started a free trial, and it was so great that I signed up as a member just a few days after first checking it out.

First, the equipment is perfect for your average woman. There are multiple treadmills, cross trainers, and bicycle machines for cardio. All cardio machines have a personal TV (with DirectTV) attached to keep you entertained while you work out (just bring your own headphones!). The personal TVs alone make this gym awesome! There are also weight machines that are easy to use and very effective at targeting specific muscles. Lastly, there are free weights and a multi-purpose machine (I don't know what it's called) if you know what you're doing and want more flexibility in your workout. (If you don't know much about personal fitness--which I didn't when I first started--the cardio and weight machines are perfect. I've since advanced to using more of the free-weight equipment, but I love it all!).

TWL also offers a number of services. I've tried the classes, which are an AWESOME workout (extremely effective!) for a shockingly good price. I've also purchased personal training sessions (also very inexpensive), and I have only good things to say about the personal trainers. (I'm impressed by how my personal trainer, Emily, pays attention to my abilities and needs. She knows when to push me to try harder and when to help me out. She also invites me to text her anytime with questions about what food I should be eating and how my exercise is going outside of our sessions.) I can see *and* feel myself getting stronger as a result of these sessions!

When you need to wind down, TWL has an infrared sauna (perfect for relaxing after a workout or anytime on a winter day! I like to bring a book and hang out in the sauna for about 20 minutes). TWL also offers massage services (the cheapest prices I've found for massages in St. Louis City). I've had both Jamie and Mya as masseuses, and both were great!

Basically, TWL has everything you could ask for in a women's gym. Also, speaking of the fact that it's a women's gym, did I mention that there are no men working out? Working out around men makes me feel self-conscious (and their sweat smells worse than women's sweat for some reason...), so TWL's all-women environment allows me to really focus on my workout and personal improvement without worrying about what other people think of me.

To sum it up, I love This Way Ladies! I've been a member for over 2 years, which is itself a sign of the quality of the gym. The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly (Lisa, the owner, knows everyone's name!), the equipment is exactly what I need, and the services are awesome. I can't recommend this gym highly enough.
