Thompson House Inn & Tea Room

Story

A Longmont historic landmark, the Thompson House was completed in 1887 for John Brigham Thompson, a successful hardware merchant who came to Longmont along with his brother-in-law, Royal M. Hubbard. Both men were pillars in the new community that became Longmont, named for the nearby 14,259-ft mountain, Longs Peak.

In 1994, the Thompson House was meticulously renovated, preserving the natural attributes of this historic property, including the magnificent oak, rosewood and maple-inlaid floors. Gas-log fireplace and multiple stained-glass windows add to the magical quality of the large home.

Today the home is a marvelous mix of old world charm and modern conveniences. The outhouse is long gone, as each room has its own private bath. The unique guest rooms are named after the original family members. The parlor, shaded front porch and garden are available to relax and enjoy.
