For being a swamp, this is a beautiful place to take a walk. There is an elevated walkway if you want to make sure you stay dry and also some walking paths if you feel more adventurous. The river is nice and it's fairly common to see an alligator sunning itself on a log.

Nice wooded park in the swamp with excellent facilities. Bathrooms are spotless and well equipped and sites are large with a great deal of privacy. Outstanding handicapped access at designated sites (site 30 in the attached photosphere seems like the best).

The water spiggots are too close to the tent campsites such that you may need to outfit the family in shrimp boots in order to navigate the campsite comfortably for the duration of your stay. The sites are on the bayou (almost in the bayou depending upon how much it rains) so bring a mosquito net to wrap around yourself because no amount of DEET will help you. The bath house is clean with washer/dryer and vending machines (and air conditioned for some respite).

Loved the nature center and trails. Stayed there after a good rain parts of it was a little flooded. But all in all a very nice park. The only downside was they need to upgrade the laundry room.

Had fun going "squatchin" for big foot with the kids! Being outdoors improved everyone's mood and the view is amazing! There are cabins that can be rented and capming grounds to pitch a tent (never tried those, that's why I rated a 4).
