HONEST REVIEW: Went with friends on a Tuesday. 1/2 off Online reservation was easy and smooth. Came checked in, got to our reserved bay without any issues. Hit balls / food/ drinks, what more do you ask for
As I’m traveling out of town, needed something to do for a Saturday when not working. 34° out and I was surprised that there was an hour and a half wait at 2 o’clock in the afternoon to try this place. I have never visited a Topgolf before, so I was anxious to give it a try. I downloaded the app so I can add myself to the virtual waiting list. When I got there, it was before they texted me that I was up next and I went to the front desk and explained I’m new to the place and the guy couldn’t find my name on the list and even though I explain I’m new to the place a couple of times he never explain to me how the process worked. I don’t understand why they have a check in process because everything is worked through the app and through text messages. When your bed is available, you get a text that tells you which bay to go to and then you proceed there to start your round. We had a great table waitress, who was very friendly and kind and showed us how to get set up. I think there should be a little more guidance given to people who have never been there before. I asked our server how the scoring went and she wasn’t able to explain. We ended up figuring it out in the end and we ended up having a fun time.
What’s with all the negative reviews from people who have never been here? And yes, it’s busy, it just opened a couple weeks ago, it’s a big attraction. But we had our corporate party here a couple days ago and had a blast! Super fun time for us non-golfers with good food. Nothing to complain about!
We went on opening night & had a great experience. Our waitress was incredible & FUNNY! The heaters are nice when it’s chilly outside. The only thing we noticed is the sensors were a little inconsistent but it had snowed that morning so maybe that affected things but it didn’t damper our experience! Great opening night Topgolf environment isn’t for everybody and it’s clear that some of the community isn’t welcome to change & will be miserable and negative about any and everything but I think it’s a great addition. We’ll be frequenting quite often, especially since the bay prices are about half the prices of other locations.
The golf games are fun and the servers are friendly. The food and drink prices were much more reasonable than I had anticipated. We played in the cold but there are heaters to help. I recommend placing yourself on the waitlist prior to arrival, and give yourself ample time. We had a few drinks in the bar while waiting for our bay.
One of the newest TG locations, this one is a full fledged Top Tracer location meaning you’ll get multiple stats with each hit of the ball. Really cool to be honest. It’s been quite busy since opening so the majority of concerned reviews are regarding booking a booth and wait times. You can book through the app but I’ve heard you will have better luck booking a reservation through the website. Food is fantastic and the service is quick.
Honest review here I've been to 3 other TopGolf locations in the US. Atlanta, GA. San Antonio, TX. And Salt Lake City, UT All of which had holes in the ground that light up. This location was interesting because they had targets painted on the grass. Honestly because of how it was set up, the scoring was way off compared to the other locations I've been to with holes in the ground. Like your va would bounce twice within a target on the ground and it would not score accordingly. Or you would have a ball that would bounce outside of the target and settle inside of the target and it wouldn't give you points. Or it would give you points when you weren't even close to the target. It was really weird. But honestly, that was really my only complaint about the location. It's definitely smaller than the other locations I've been to. But I guess Boise just gets the smallest of big things. The food was really good and the service was very good too. We joined the wait-list first thing when it opened up on the morning and we were given a spot within two hours. So very efficient on that aspect Other than the off scoring and how it doesn't have light up holes in the ground, this location is decent! I'd go again!
Went to Top Golf with a few buddies. We are avid golfers, so we expected a good experience. It was 28 degrees outside, but the infrared heaters did a very good job of making things comfortable. Kudos for that. The biggest problem with Top Golf is the software. The games provide little to no instructions to let you know what is going on. The big screen and small control screen often disagreed on how many balls have been hit. The control screen switched players unexpectedly once and that messed up our game. The ball dispenser released 2 balls on many occasions which confused the software as to what was happening with them. The games were also inconsistent in how they scored your shots. In some games it was on where the ball ended up, and on others it was apparently where the ball first landed. Bad game design. Now for the ball sensors: the calibration is way off, which makes the targets confusing; especially the closer red and yellow targets. The sensors think the targets are a lot closer than they are. To get points you have to intentionally hit short. We showed one of the workers how you hit short and even after rolling, the ball was way short of the target, but the big screen showed it going in and giving points. Bad. Another bad thing is that the software sometimes says to hit towards a "brown" target, but there isnt one. Its orange. Finally, the games are confusing since some of them have you trying to get a high score, and others have you trying to get a low score. The games dont tell you which is which. Despite all these troubles, we still had a good time. It could be so much better though with some better software.
Got on the reserve list, text us to arrive by 2:50. Arrived at 2:30, didn’t get to play because we got pushed another hour and half because platinum members came in. Never bothered to press button on their end to update our time until we showed up. Nothing online even says this can happen! Didn't know what else to do, didn't want to drive home, so we tried to order food but out of most items, served us after many table who sat after us, just really bad customer service at this location. Not worth it, we won't be coming back.
David is an amazing bartender. Attentive and super friendly and knowledgeable. Ashley, the manager checked in from time to time to make sure our experience was top notch! The service alone was enough to keep us coming back. The golf was just a perk!Food: 5/5
