Story

Torchy's Tacos started in 2006 with a mobile trailer, a little red Vespa, and a man with a passion for good food. The founder, Mike Rypka, left an executive chef position to chase his dreams by investing everything he had into Torchy's Tacos. With a new, experimental menu ready to serve but no mouths to feed, Rypka jumped on his Vespa and started throwing out samples in an attempt to draw customers to his trailer. Before he knew it, people were rallying beside the taco stand hollering, "damn these tacos are good!" and the Torchy's Tacos' legacy began.

Positives: David was amazing, and the lady at the register that took care of me was helpful and kind. The food was also good, in typical Torchy's fashion. Negatives: My wife, sister, and nephew showed up before I did, and the cashier that took care of them was incredibly rude. Then, once I joined the party and we got our food, my sister asked the runner whether we could order drinks through her or if we had to go to the bar, and she copped some attitude with her reply. After that, my sister goes to the bar to grab said drinks, and the bartender was a jerk to her! Then (yes, there is more!), the lady who bussed our table was inattentive and not personable at all. 4 out of 6 staff encounters we had were not just rushed or anything like that; they were just straight-up rude. As a restaurant industry veteran, I was quite off-put by the lack of hospitality from the FOH staff. I know first-hand how crazy weekends get in a place like that, but it certainly doesn't excuse bad attitudes and service. Hope to see better in the future.

The food is great. Many choices of tacos and prices are mostly reasonable. Try the Monk, basic but good. The nachos and queso is excellent. I can't give 4 stars since the service is inevitably slow. If you know what you want, order in advance

I'm not sure it was worth the unfortunate experience I had with the company. I have nothing bad to say about the food. And I was excited to try it as I have heard wonderful reviews. However, I used their online ordering system to order lunch, requested a 12:10p pick up time and sent in my order at 11:41a. I promptly received an order number and ticket at 11:41p. I arrived at Torchy's at 12:10p, waited in line for 10 min. and once I reached the window at 12:20p, was told it wasn't ready and given a number. The lady beside who also was waiting for a number had put in her order 11:45p, and then promptly received her order 10min before me, at which point, at 12:25p. I requested a refund so I could leave and return to work/ maybe pick up a protein bar at Walgreens. The cashier had me wait for an additional 5 min. to get a manager, but instead immerging with my order, asking if I would like my food, or my money. I asked for my food, to which she commented, "it only took us 25 min.". I looked at the ticket stapled to my order, they printed it 12:02p, 22 min after I had made my request online, 22 min following my receipt of the ticket via email. If they had printed the ticket when I ordered it, it would have been ready when I arrived. But they waited 20 min to print my ticket. Waiting until 10 min before pick up to print my ticket, then inferred that a 25 min. wait time from the time of the ticket order was an impressive feat. The food was really good, so perhaps that's why they treat people like this, because it doesn't matter.

Food is ok, I wish the beef fajitas were cooked more.. Not a huge fan of the employees, I'm sure they aren't all bad. Young guy who attended me at the to go line needs training. Waiting for him to finish dancing and hanging out, he finally attends me. I asked for a drink to complete my order. Once I write the tip and sign my receipt he's too distracted trying to see the tip and forgets to give me a cup. When I ask for a cup, it's rudely slammed on to the counter. I would've mentioned to a manager but I wasn't in a mood to hear any excuse for their actions. Should've asked for a refund and left the food. Its not "damn good" when you spend $26+ bucks for 4 tacos and 1 fountain w/ very poor customer service.

Chips, salsa, queso and margaritas outside on a warm summer day! This was such a fun place to eat while visiting a friend in Round Rock. The tacos were killer! They wrap a bunch of eclectic, delicious things inside tortillas and serve it with every sauce you can imagine. The staff was super friendly, prices are just right.
