HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! Took the bus today 03/9/2018, to the Louisville Airport. It was the 2nd street bus! The driver was speeding so fast, I thought sure we were all going to go flying through the windows due to his reckless driving. I have NEVER been so scared on a bus! He was speeding so fast that people were literally being tossed around in their seats. As we were arriving at the airport, he almost hit a cab driver, who was standing outside of his car. WOW! When you complain to the Tarc Administration, they say they will call you back concerning your complaint, but never do. They could care less about your complaints!!!

Not dependable or reliable. Buses run inconsistently and are always late or early. Never really on time. They rush when late and that makes it easy for you to be passed up. They don't wait when early either. I don't think they understand the importance of a schedule and people jobs. Horrible waste of tax payers money

This bus system is undoutedly one of the worse in the country! Buses are never on time especially the 4 street one, and the payment system is outdated. There is no good live tracking available for the client to check where is. Bref, Tarc is very unreliable.

I've been a rider for nearly 25 years and all these negative reviews seem a bit overkill. In my experience here, most of the time the problems are with the passengers and not the drivers (BTW you should into account the grammar used by some people writing the reviews here, doesn't exactly lend itself to credibility). I see people constantly boarding unprepared, have no idea where they are going, how to get there, do not have fares ready or fares at all. It's the year 2017 and people are still unable to do something simple like use their phone to plan a trip and track a bus. It's not that hard yet they want someone else to do everything for them. Then get upset and blame the driver later. They should be angry with themselves for not educating themselves a bit better. Most of the time, buses are on time or within a few minutes of due points. Frequency could be better but much of that is lack of funding. Most of my complaints come from poor maintenance on coaches that result in buses breaking down frequently, very dirty buses at times with seats you're afraid to sit on, and lack of electronic fare system which they are STILL working on. Also still no shields for the driver areas? That is a real problem in this day and age I would think. TARC is way behind on these things compared to so many other cities. Bottom line is TARC could be a lot better but could be a lot worse. It's good enough to save a few hundred bucks a month on a car to go to work. I would probably not use it to get around on weekends when service is not as good and many buses are packed. I would also add experiences can vary depending on the bus. If you have to ride no.18, no.4 or no.23 during certain times it is going to be a rough ride for you with the overcrowding and rowdy passengers. In other words, use Uber or Lyft in certain situations.
