Best care I have ever seen. I highly recommend UnityPoint Health. I remember the first time I came to Cedar Rapids and I remember a banner saying that they were rated number one and I can see why. Even though I'm not from Cedar Rapids I came up there often and I witnessed the care that they gave a patient. Every person on the care team was exceptional and I am grateful to have witnessed what we should all expect and health care and nothing less it's things like this that make a difference and how well a person will rebound after an illness or surgery or are suffering from terminal illnesses but need help giving alternative methods to cope with the day today events. I met with a speech therapist occupational therapist and physical therapist and a nurse. If you have the option to choose a group for your care or loved ones you should UnityPoint. They truly have raised the bar

Visited the emergency room this morning and there was nobody at the counter. My boyfriend had to roam the halls yelling "Hello??" for a couple minutes before anybody came out to receive us. Later in my visit today, I was instructed to use the restroom prior to a procedure. I went in the restroom and there was dried blood all over the toilet. I had to put latex gloves on and clean it myself. When I opened the door to exit the bathroom, the patient care tech had her ear pressed against the door, obviously listening and looking at me in an accusing manor as if I was stealing gloves or specimen cups. Nope, just sterilizing my own toilet. I will not be going to this hospital ever again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst hospital I've ever been to, Dr. Dowden refused to take blood saying that the 'white blood cell count test is inaccurate' and 'wouldn't change his mind about what he would do', even though I explained it would at least give us a peace of mind to know if the count was high or not he said he would not run the testing. My friend has been in SEVERE abdominal pain for over a month and was told nothing could be done, they did NOTHING for pain management, refused to do a barium enema in order to check the colon because he said it would be a 'waste of time' already went to a general practitioner and OBGYN and still no answers or anything done to help the pain. No one should ever go to this hospital unless you really want to waste time and money.

Can I post a ZERO? I wouldn't take a sickly looking slug to St. Lukes, but we are forced to use them now because of Gov. Branstad. It would be nice if they at least provided the correct phone number.
