Stopped by here on a lark. It looked interesting from the outside, I thought it was a surf shop. The variety is amazing and the people are great. I got helped by Melissa(?) I believe her name is. I told her what I was interested in and she showed me a great variety. It was long sleeved button down shirts if you care. I ended up with with 5 shirts and a pair of pair of Johnson & Murphy shoes for under $70! Highly recommended.

Great place to shop. Good prices and the service is excellent, everyone was very helpful, especially Madison. She was very friendly and helped me during my first time there.

This place is outstanding! I took clothes here, and they explained that the condition of some of my items were not the greatest. Some issues I hadn't even noticed. I can see why some people have said they were rude, but that was just because you did not like what you heard about your clothes. When you sell, do not take it personally. They just have to buy what is going to sell at a decent price for them to make a profit, otherwise stores like this would not be around. I even got a discount for the items I purchased for choosing store credit!

Uptown Cheapskate is easily the best place to buy used clothing in the Charleston area. They are very selective, they stock the store with great stuff, and it's nice that they have a variety of things for everyone from young professionals to teens. Their prices and sales are great based on the quality... I recommend this place to all of my friends. (I mostly buy Free People, LuluLemon, and Madewell... Which I never have a hard time finding.) If you sell to them, you get 25% off of any purchase on the day you sell. I have noticed that many reviewers are upset when they go in to sell here, and are surprised at how selective this place is... But there are many criteria beyond quality and brand not to buy something, especially when you consider merchandising for the seasons. You have to bring really nice stuff. Also, I have been coming here for years (since they were in the other location near sesame) and not ONCE has anyone been rude to me... The idea that they would tell someone to go to Goodwill is odd... Because they offer to donate your stuff for you... That just doesn't add up.
