Duncan is my favorite vet in Pennsylvania! The technicians always treat my Mastiffs with the upmost importance. They are compassionate to everyone that comes in, the staff truly enjoy their work. I would say they are fairly priced in relation to every other vet that isn't a discounted vet or specialty hospital. Everyone in my family takes their pets there and even though I moved across the city I'm not letting that control my choice in who cares for my pets.

What a major disappointment. After an excellent first-time experience with Dr. Erin McFadden, I decided to find another veterinary hospital, solely due to the actions of Hospital Manager Jon B. He is one of the most unprofessional and condescending individuals I have ever met, and his customer service skills are sadly lacking. Although it is a major inconvenience to start over with another veterinarian, that is preferable to dealing with this man.

We have a German Shepherd who gets nervous when going to the vet. He also can growl at people he doesn't like. When we took him to Duncan Manor Animal Hospital for a bad ear infection he did great. He didn't growl at anyone behind the desk like he did at another vet. They say dogs have a good judge of character. This saying goes a long way in dealing with Duncan. He was wagging his tail and happy with everyone behind the front desk and inside the room. He did show nervousness, but was calmed down nicely by Dr.. McDonough. She was so good with him. We had 2 visits. 1 the initial visit and 1 a follow-up. They made his visit so enjoyable, everytime I went to the door afterwards, he would get excited, run to the door, thinking he was going for another ride. Not only where they great working with him, they have the facilities in-site, to tell the toe of infection it was, and he is now infection free. I also like the fact that they did a Lyme disease test on him, which came back negative. But with him being a large dog who plays outside, it was nice to be relieved he was clear. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone. Especialkky to those who have dogs with anxiety or might be afraid of the vets. I know we will continue to go here anytime we need vet services for Scooby in the future.

This vet hospital used to be a great place when it was independently owned and operated. Then it was taken over by VCA, and the quality has changed considerably. Before we would take our dog, and the vet bills were "cheap" considering what we pay now. Before they would only run tests that were necessary. Now I feel like they trick you into believing what they "need" to do to keep your dog healthy and rack up the bill. I took my dog in June for a routine check up, and because we had noticed a new lump on him. They told me they would do a cytology on it to see what it was. We get a call from the vet later that night saying it was a tumor and that he needs surgery. We asked if it was cancerous and they said they didn't know. Really? You did a cytology on the tumor, but you don't know if it's cancerous or not? They really pushed surgery as the best option for our dog, but we disagreed. We said we wanted to know if it was cancerous. If it was cancerous we would look into different treatments. If it wasn't we decided it would be best to leave it be (since he's an old dog). We called 1-2 times a week for the past month, but to no avail. The veterinarian in charge has ignored all of our calls. We just called reception and they are telling us a manager will contact us soon. To put salt in the wound, we just got in the mail an "estimate" of our dog's supposed surgery. They gave us papers to sign stating we know why our dog needs this surgery and that we would pay the costs. Considering this hospital and their vet staff hasn't answered any of our questions, we will not be signing those papers, nor will we be taking him in for surgery. They have not treated us or my dog, like a living being. We are very disappointed in our treatment. We are very upset at the moment. We've had our dog for 9 years, and he is our family. If they were human doctors and had treated a human like this, they would be sued for malpractice. Don't take your pets here, because if they could be this inconsiderate towards a dog that potentially has cancer, and this inconsiderate to his family, guess how much they would care about you. Not a lot.
