Story

Originally constructed in the 1930s, Vineyard Hacienda is an event venue, getaway destination, and oasis for every special occasion. Our nine-acre property embraces traditional Spanish style while embodying the beauty of California. The grounds provide natural beauty and a retreat-like atmosphere, while each building has been authentically designed with adobe, red Spanish tile, and high-quality hardwood. No matter the event, our location and warm, attentive staff can please even the most particular guest.

Friendly owners, housekeeper and Ray, the dog, made us feel at home in this private residence B&B style getaway. Since there are only a few rooms we feel like we nearly have the place to ourselves, only passing other guests at breakfast or at the pool. This means there is plenty of privacy for our romantic anniversary get away. Lots of spots around the grounds to enjoy coffee, wine, a meal or even just to bird watch, benches, chairs, hammocks, cafe table/chairs, picnic benches As others have stated in reviews it is fairly dim in much of the house. Coming in from the bright sunny outside it seems even darker. During the evenings it does not feel as dark coming inside. And being just off of the highway there is some traffic noise depending on where on the grounds you are. The Santa Fe room is upstairs and has a private balcony. There is no a/c and no windows that open in this room, but there is a security screen that opens to the balcony. Since the balcony is private and its walls are pretty tall it was plenty of privacy to leave the door open with only the screen door closed. Plus there are a ceiling and a tower fan. My only recomendations to the lovely owners is to specify if the room is upstairs on the web site listings because some people might have trouble getting up the stairs. And advertise the private balcony. Dont get me wrong, it was a lovely surprise. But that is a selling point and many people will pay a little extra for the private balcony. It is secluded enough to feel private but within 2 miles of multiple food places, a grocery store, and even a Target. Plus hiking trails in the nature preserve just behind the grounds.

Beautiful place! All I wanted to do was explore. The amenities were great and there was no resort fee. The only think I didn't personally like was that if felt like I was staying at someone's house instead of at a hotel. The owner gave us a tour at first was always around to say hi and chat with us when we left the room and so I didn't feel like I had much privacy. Also the walls were terribly thin. But if this doesn't seem like anything that would bother you then it is absolutely a great and totally worth it for the price.

All the rooms are beautifully decorated. The gardens so gorgeous with places to sit and talk. Pool and spa area with fire pit so much fun. All personnel so kind and helpful. I will go again

It's a little hard to find off the main street, start slowing down when your GPS tells you it's a few hundred feet out, drive all the way down the driveway. Was given a full tour of the property as soon as we got in. Very cozy experience, great place to visit if you want to go to San Diego but not be IN San Diego. 20 minutes away from India St, SeaWorld and the beach. Owners were exceptionally nice, pool was large with jacuzzi and poolhouse/room was nice to be in. Able to see the stars at night with vineyards to walk in. Very quiet. Only complains was no A/C but it's very shady and cool at night.

The people that run the place are the greatest when in the San Diego area won't be staying anywhere else great atmosphere. Rooms are the cleanest and nicest if staying in the area check this place out you won't be dissatisfied.
