The Westgate is not on the strip itself. It is set back a little ways towards the end by where the Stratosphere is at. However, they have a monorail that arrives every 7 minutes that can get you right to the strip and this is so worth the money for an all day pass. The hotel is neat and clean - the staff friendly and helpful. They had booked me in a double queen but when I arrived to check in they only had smoking rooms left. The desk immediately took care of the issue, upgrading me to a kind suite for the issue that I had. The room was beautiful. The only issue that I saw with this hotel is that the sink water runs a little slower than I would prefer. AND, when sitting down in the tub, it was clear that the staff had not cleaned under the rim of the toilet - things that would not have been noticed from above. But the room was well laid out, and the casino was pleasant. We ate at the buffet - GREAT Value! So many selections and very tasty. The only main drawback was that the parking was so far away from the hotel.

For an off strip hotel, this one has a lot to offer including good food at reasonable prices. I love the almond croissant at the coffee shop and the deserts at the steak house. There is also Italian, Asian, and comfort food dining choices as well as a Pizza Hut with fast choices if time is an issue. Of course there is a buffet, but I wasn't impressed by that. I suggest spending your dinner dollars at one of the other restaurants. Be sure to pay the extra for the remodeled tower, it's worth the difference including the comfort level of the bed! I slept so well I actually went home and bought the same mattress. If you have business at the convention center, this location can't be beat. It's a short walk, almost completely indoors, to the convention center next door.

Food is good. Prices are reasonable. They're clearly working on updating the decor and amenities. There are no coffee pots in the rooms and there isn't much for quick food. They allow smoking, but I'm if that's everywhere in Vegas or just some places, but it's stinky nonetheless. The no smoking rooms are on no smoking floors, but I still felt like I wafted ash tray in my room every now and then.

Not a bad hotel, the price point was affordable and you could see how crowded it was. Was there during spring break so it was an unusually busy time. The hotel room was a decent size but the shower and bath area was dated, breaking down and needed a serious makeover. They offered up an updated suite for more money but you'd expect them to keep even their standard rooms to a higher level. The sports book was a good size but the gambling area was crowded and we rarely spent time there and took the monorail to the nicer casinos. The fact that the monorail was a big plus though. Probably the last time I'll stay at Westgate though.

Good economical hotel and casino off the strip. Convenient to the Las Vegas Convention Center. They bait-and-switch you on price however because they quote you a rate and then the fine print says you will be assessed a resort fee for every day you stay. We also had one hell of a problem getting our bags delivered to our room on the day of check-in. They were obviously understaffed and when we called repeatedly they got shity with us. I don't know if I will stay with them ever again. I would not consider this one of the finer places I have stayed in Las Vegas and I have been here many times. The in-room TV experience also sucks.
