let's get one thing abundantly clear: this place is awesome. wildcat is the quintessential lodge experience. there's a warm (electric) fireplace, Country kitchen built in the 1890s, and a ton of land to hike, explore, enjoy. Peace and quiet at its finest. but here's the best part: our hosts, Donald Oaks, is one of the nicest, kindest, and welcoming campground orders we've ever met. He made sure that our experience was perfect from start to finish. not only do I recommend the wildcat launch a campground without reservation, but I look forward to staying here again again for years to come.

I am a local up here in Suches GA and I love this place. I go atleast once per week. I also rent a spare room on Air BnB and I send all of my guests there, and they have verbalized great reviews as wll.

Recently my wife and I escaped the hub bub of traffic, lights and noise; and escaped to the north Georgia mountains at Wildcat Lodge & Campgrounds. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! Remote, quiet with breathtaking views on the drive there, this is a great location to see stars in the sky like you have maybe never seen them before. Next time, we will bring our telescope. Proprietor Donald was great to work with and described the property precisely as we found it. As he said, this is not a Marriott. This is rustic and charming. Escape with a book, take a walk through the woods and take a drive into Dahlonega for a fine meal. Our only concern was the heavy rain that invaded the area during our stay, which made the roads upon on the mountain more challenging than we desired - being flatlanders and all.

Very basic, no frills, had to seek out managers in the store. Nothing friendly about this place. There is no shade, no pad, and no lights at night. The parking area is very uneven and rough. The fire pit is sort of a circle of odd shaped rocks. Upon entering you want to turn back. It is gravel road with run-down tacky buildings along the way to the campsite. The charge was $21.40/night with the Passport America membership. I would not have paid their full charge of $40. There was WIFI. The picnic tables are down the hill in a pavilion. The hookups were all in good condition. The bathhouse is behind the pavilion and in good, clean condition.
