If I keep telling too many people about this special place, they may not have room for me, We started "tent camping" over 10 years ago here and its been our special place all these years. Philip and Pat are great hosts and we could not think of a better place to unwind .

What a great find we stumbled upon today! Full 50a hookups and a wonderful, welcoming owner, add great rates and you have a winner! We highly recommend and we will be back. We are staying here in our large 5th wheel trailer.

Phil is awesome! Large tent sights (doesn't pack his tent lots in like sardines). Was there for Memorial Day and had plenty of privacy from next door lots. Better priced then anyone else, super clean.. This place is a hidden gem..

Cherokee Campground near Helen, Georgia is a great campground. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Located less than 5 miles to Helen (right next to Unicoi State Park). There are about 55 sites - all level. The sites are mostly gravel. The roads are mostly paved. THE WIFI IS GREAT!!! Probably the best wifi I've had at a campground. There are 60 cable TV channels. 50amp, full hookup, and primitive (some of the tent sites have water and electricity). There are some long term residents. There is a small older clubhouse for meeting residents. The restrooms are dated, but they are clean. For kids there is a good playground with wooden ship to climb on, tetherball, shuffle board, basketball, and open area to run. The park is tucked away secluded from any road. It's very quiet. There are lush trees that surround the park and help divide the camp sites. Phil, the park owner, guided me to my site in the dark and directed my parking. Phil is full of good stories. His little fat dog Peanut will greet you too. I'm not going to write what I paid for the 3 nights I stayed. It was so little I felt guilty. This is not a perfect campground - some of the picnic tables are old, etc. Many of the local campgrounds are leased sites only. For the money you can't beat this place.
