Depends on what you're looking for... If you're a lifter, this place is for you. There are more weights than I know what to do with and the facility is amazing. If you're not a lifter, it's really expensive and I don't think you get what you pay for. I have the yoga membership which is $100 a month. I've been to a LOT of yoga studios and for that price, the door should be locked at the beginning of class and people shouldn't be able to wander in and out at any time. Every class I've been to so far someone has arrived 15-30 minutes late or left early and interrupted the class. Also, you can hear all the lifters weights slamming on the ground outside the classroom... Not the most zen. For $100 a month there aren't a lot of classes either. There are a couple in the morning when most people work and then a 5:30 pm class but that's it for the evening. I wish there were more in the evening. The instructors have been amazing so far though. Kris, who teaches Yoga Mobility, is fantastic. I also tried to go to a cycling class but the instructor didn't show up... It was kind of frustrating because it was an 8 am Saturday morning class so I got up early for it. I really wish I had done a couple of classes and worked out there for a couple of days before I signed up for a membership.

Xcel has been my second home for 16 years now! Not only do I love this gym so much, the staff and instructors are amazing! Classes are great, the gym is always VERY clean, which to me that's a huge deal! I love how there are always enough machines, you don't have to wait in line, and the customer service that I recently received has been top notch! This is the BEST GYM in Utah! I highly recommend it to all of my friends and family, and everyone else! Thanks Xcel for being so great.

I have been an Xcel member for over two years. Moving to UT from the east coast, I needed a new gym. This gym is exceptional. Quality classes (High Fitness, Body Combat, Barre, and Pilates to name just a few). The trainers are qualified and friendly. I had a pain in my wrist and one of the trainers helped me resolve the issue. The management and instructors know you on a first name basis. The Kids Club is clean, well maintained and I feel secure in bringing my two children on a daily basis. This is the best gym in Salt Lake City.

Most versatile facility you will find in Utah. Whether its weightlifting, yoga, pilates, crossfit,spin, there is an endless bound of fitness capacity here. Everyone starting from the staff on is friendly and passionate about making you a better person. Highly recommend Xcel to any person of any fitness level.

I've been a member at Xcel for 10 years, they are the best in SLC. I have been to every other gym in Salt Lake (Vasa/Golds, 24 hour, Lifetime, Planet Fitness, and Sports Mall) and even a few out of state and nothing can compare to this facility. Everyone at Xcel is friendly, staff as well as members and serious about fitness. The equipment is modern and is all maintained very well, and the locker rooms are spotless. You are never waiting for a machine even during busy times. Classes are fun, not crowded (which was a major problem at Lifetime) and the instructors are amazing. And if you want the best personal trainer in town the Justin is your man!
