After meeting with the doctor I felt confident about getting a hernia removed by Dr. Zakhour, the problem like other reviews on here is the office staff...ESPECIALLY Margaret the office manager. This lady is beyond rude and constantly continued to put words in my mouth that I never said. She told me that the doctor would not be happy after she spoke with him about me. Please, speak away lady!! The staff really needs to understand that it is Christmas time and people are concerned about the cost of surgery. The word itself doesn't sound cheap!! We don't get hernias everyday so we typically do not have any clue as to the process nor the cost. It is human nature to be concerned about the cost and process. I do agree with the folks that have previously reviewed this doctor. The doctor is great. The office staff...not so much. They need to be more respectful of patients that come into their office. They aren't coming in for a flu shot. They normally come to a surgeon because they need surgery. With surgery comes worry, grief, pain, and financial strain.

Dr. Zakhour was recommended by my sisters doctor so we did not see the previous review before surgery. I guess they finally got it together because we were very pleased with his bedside manner in the hospital. He did a great job keeping me informed while my sister was in surgery. When we were in his office before hand he and his office assistant were easy to understand, pleasant, and he explained everything in detail as to what to expect. His office assistant set up the time and place of the surgery based on my sisters insurance. This went as well as any surgery could go as far as Dr. Zakhour was concerned. The hospital could have been better but that could not be controlled by the doctor.

Dr. Zakhour is a great doctor/surgeon, he answers all of your questions and concerns, he explains everything that's going on and what's going to happen. He answers your calls no matter what time of day or night you call him. THE PROBLEM IS HIS OFFICE STAFF!! Very unprofessional, rude, cancels your appointments without notifying you and you want know until you get to the office that they have cancelled your appointment. They lie to you, they are not organized, they are ruining Dr. Zakhour's business and he need to fire them and hire some professional employees that need a job and will treat the patients right.

Want a headache to go with your visit? The doctor seemed nice enough, but the staff were very unorganized, not very knowledgeable regarding insurance information and pricing of the procedures. For the cherry ontop, the staff canceled my appointment due to poor communication, without asking me in advance, and let someone else have it.
