Went here 3x during our brief trip to the area. Great coffees & teas with a variety of milk options, fantastic breakfast and lunch sandwiches fresh2order, and an overall great atmosphere to study, ready, chat and appreciate local artwork
First time and definitely not the last! Came here with my GF on a Sunday around 10:30 a.m. No line and "seat yourself" tables available inside and out. We were in search of breakfast and pleasantly surprised with this local coffeehouse with some unique eats! We had the lemon ricotta waffles and Breakfast Biscuit jam, Harvari cheese, scrambled egg, avocado and side of the perfectly ripened strawberries. I had the crème brûlée latte and my GF had the Derby Cold Brew fresh mint with simple syrup, house cold brew and cream. We ooohed and aaaahed, and our tummies were happy!
Great environment, good menu and a nice coffee house feel. I love that it is women owned and how everyone who works there checks in with you periodically to make sure everything is going okay. I enjoy coming here to study or sit and people watch while sipping a well made beverage.
Excellent local coffee shop, decent coffee, pretty good food. The menus changes a bit due to Covid. The staff is really cautious about the Covid screening, you need to wash your hand before entering the store, the check your temp if you wanna dine in. Also, all the tables are separate and maintain a decent distance. Only thing is lack of parking.
Very nice spot. A little pricey but you get better quality for it. Large and airy, with sunlights and lots of plants. The coffee was good, and the vegan BLAT sandwich is tasty. They also sell some nice gift / treat type items such as sparkling wine and planters. For COVID, they have patio seating, a contactless sink and soap in the entrance, and contactless payment. They also have compostable options. Service is always VERY friendly. I'm looking forward to trying the lemon ricotta waffles!
Wonderful community oriented, independently owned coffeehouse. Beautiful, spacious interior. A great place to meet friends or neighbors for coffee and conversation. Sandwiches, scones, muffins, bagels and other food items also served.
Great place for a meeting or working alone. Wifi is available—lots of beverage options. It can get crowded, and it's hard to get a table sometimes.Food: 4/5
I used to live this place. They have closed at random times without warning, and now they are never open past 2 pm. For the price, it isn't worth being treated like you owe them for something and they really don't care for your feedback. Old review:What you pay for here is the atmosphere. The coffee is more expensive than most, then again, it tastes better! If you are looking for an after-work, late evening, or late-night place to "get your tremors up", go to Denny's. Zocalo is for your day off, or if you work after their 6 PM closing. Free WiFi, and often nice small events, a DECENT kid's chill play area, and groovy jams on the radio make Zocalo's one of the truly "hidden gems" of the San Leandro, near the downtown area!
If you too grew up in Santa Cruz and you miss the coffee houses, this is the place. A teeny weeny bougie-er, if memory serves, and the space for kids is a huge blessing.Food: 5/5
First impression walking in this place, calm and welcoming. We came for the waffles but they had discontinued them. This is a good place for the following types of people.. Ages 18-65 no problem Students Hippies Locals People on the go Beer and wine drinkers Networkers I gave this place 4 stars because they need a better barista, the coffee isn't the greatest.. a local coffee shop should be flooded with coffee drinkers, instead people come for breakfast sandwiches. I will come back. I hope this helped.
