5 stars because of my main dish and the service. 4.5 stars for the appetizer and cocktail. The meal itself was delightful. I asked for my steak to be medium rare and it actually was! The warm olive appetizer was just ok. The pickled vegetables were overly salty, but otherwise ok. The cocktail Mexican sweater was a bit too sweet for my taste. The service was on point and my server had wonderful wine recommendations. Will be back!
We booked the private dining room for our company party and I cannot say enough great things about our experience! The food was delicious, the service was great and they were so accommodating! Definitely the best dining experience we’ve had as a group!
If you visit Bozeman a trip to Plonk is a must! I lived here years ago and when I knew I’d be passing through Bozeman my one requirement was to stop and eat here. They did not disappoint and my taste buds are so happy right now. Thank you! Thank you for having the same quality of service, good food and clean atmosphere I experienced 13 years ago today. The chicken and gnocchi with Brussel Sprouts, I believe it was called the airline chicken, was so delicious. It paired well with the Pink Panther cocktail. My business partner enjoyed the Salmon with broccoli florets and beets and it was equally amazing. Will return again the next time I visit! Staff was attentive, professional and swift. Thank you!
We came here two nights in a row for after dinner drinks. The wine and cocktail lists are outstanding, as was the service. The first night we were there, they were so busy....I've never seen a server hustle that hard with a smile on her face the whole time. I had the gin and juice followed by the coconut Rickie, and both were amazing. I can't recall what drinks my fiance had, but he enjoyed them too. Night #2 we came back for wine, of which our selections were also very good. I can't speak for the food, but absolutely recommend the beverages. The space is alsoassice and very cool.
I have been coming to this wonderful place for many years. They have been around long before Bozeman became the "it" place. Drinks are incredible, service is always stellar. I appreciate that the owners decided to retain much of the old west style high ceilings and brick, but modernized it in such a chic way. You can't go wrong here.
Came here on my first day in Bozeman and loved the vibe. I sat at the bar, the bartender was great - made me a GREAT Perfect Manhattan. Everyone is super friendly. I wish I had the time to come back for a glass of their barolo and also to check out the cheeseboard. Not giving it 5-stars because the flatbread which was my only experience with food was underwhelming. However, were I to have more time in Bozeman, this would be one of my go-to's.
We came from Billings last November for a concert. Was not expecting anything to be open besides fast food. We drove past a gentleman walking along the sidewalk & I asked him what would be open this late and surprisingly we were next door to the Plonk! How convenient we thought but we were NOT expecting what we actually experienced. My husband & I were the only patrons. The inside was dim & quiet...it was perfect. I don't remember the special that we had but I do know that steak was involved. It was the best steak I've ever had...that WE ever had. We tipped the chef $200 & to our shock & amazement, he was barely in his early 20's! He without a doubt has a special gift and we were so lucky to have been served his delicious meals. The desert was a dish that he had made up and that was a strange but amazing dish as well. I would come to Bozeman just to come up for a dinner cooked by the amazing chef. The bartenders were amazing too. Very professional & smooth bunch. Loved every second of it. Parking: We Parked on the street, right side of the building. There are plenty of places to park.
In my 14th year living in Bozeman after moving here from Atlanta in 2009, PLONK continues to set a very unique bar: It's simultaneously the most metropolitan restaurant and night spot in Bozeman yet it's not the least bit pretentious. Presumably this is a result of great leadership setting the tone for his/her staff, and tonight that came in the form of the warm and engaging Restaurant Manager, Sam Krutsch. For dinner, server Olivia was lovely and tentative while I enjoyed the flipping amazing evening special - seared Red Snapper followed by the incredible Dark Chocolate Cheesecake for dessert. - Are you a wine connoisseur? PLONK is your new personal Mecca. Want to gaze at hot people of all shapes and varieties? Get to PLONK but be on your best behavior for once. You'll enjoy a meal well beyond what you thought might be reasonable to expect from a Bozeman dining experience, and then you'll have a vague recollection of that Baker cat who was effusive in his Google review's praise for what has become your new favorite restaurant. #CHEERS
I honestly teetered between 4 and 5 stars. TLDR: this place is really close to being amazing, but just barely falls short in a couple of things. The great: Wagyu tenderloin tartare was super fresh and expertly put together. The Montana honeycomb might be the best dessert I've ever had. Not because any one thing was terrific, but because there were so many combinations of delicious flavors that you can make that makes this a versatile masterpiece. The raspberry mojito was refreshing and delicious. The goodish: This is where I feel they fall short. We got the grilled wagyu beef tenderloin and the seared halibut cheeks. Both plates had fantastic flavors and everything was good BUT, both the beef and the fish were overcooked. We asked for the beef to be medium rare and it was between medium and medium well. The fish was a tiny bit dry. Am I nitpicking? A little. Mind you, I still gave them 5 stars. Why did I not give them 4 starts then? After I gave feedback on the temperature issues, they comped my dessert without me asking for anything. That's the mark of a great business. The bad: I asked about the orange wine as I've never heard of it. I was told they use orange peel. I later read about it and realized that was completely made up. If you don't know, please don't guess. In the end, I would totally come back without reservation and would recommend it to anyone. That makes it a total win.
Great atmosphere and food! Had a great cocktail and I hear the wine selection is dantastic.
