I contacted Achten's the end of July because I needed an estimate for a home I purchased in North DTR.  I advised them that we were in negotiations with the sellers for the expense of a new roof.  I selected Achten's because they were relatively close and had good reviews.  An estimator contacted me and agreed to provide an estimate.  He asked for me to meet him, but I advised him that I work full time and it would be difficult. He then said I didn't have to be there.  Apparently he didn't take my request seriously.  It has been a month and I've not heard anything.  My neighbors at the new house didn't see him come by either.  I don't know if he didn't take me seriously because I'm female or if it is because I am not a high-income wage worker that can just take off work at any time.  I really needed the kind of company described in the other reviews.  A company that would work with me as a customer and do a good job on my home.  I wanted an organization that would respect me and help me get a good roof on my new home.  Unfortunately I wasn't taken seriously.  No one even followed-up with me.  I never heard back from the company nor the estimator.  The roof replacement expense would have been split between myself and the seller.  We needed a bid.  I was nearly sold on this company by the reviews.  I was hopeful I had the right team.  I did not. I truly believe if I were male and had the ability to take time off at any time, I would have been taken seriously.

These guys definitely know how to replace a roof and fast. They had a team over and were in and out within two days. I thought it might take much longer since they discovered half my sheathing was severely moldy and rotten, but they took care of everything quickly. The new roof looks beautiful and the sky-lights they put in have brought much more light into the house. Great job and the estimates were on par with the other guys, in some cases less.

I was very pleased with Achten's roofing. Their sales rep/estimator was very knowledgeable and up-front about our project and really helped make the process as pain free as possible. The crew that did the actual work was great and intruded as little as possible into our daily lives. All in all it was a great roofing experience.

We had our roof replaced on our very first home and it was our first time working with a roofing company. These guys did a great job and we couldn't be happier. They were very professional and worked with us throughout the entire process. The workers were polite and flexible as we were trying to get moved in while they were doing the roof. The roof looks amazing when it is all finished. All the shingles are laid nice and clean, the ridge lines are all very straight, the flashing was done very nicely as well. We chose to have the "weathered wood" Timberline HD shingles and they turned out awesome! The color is very natural and it is neutral enough to go with just about any house color should we decide to repaint in the future. Our home also has multiple skylights which were all redone to make sure no leaking would occur. Any bad plywood was replaced. The entire job from start to finish took 3 days and it would have been shorter had it not been so hot in the middle of the day. After the job was done, everything was cleaned up very nicely and no mess was left. They brought their own porta-potty too so we didn't have any dirty boots tracking things in and out of the house. I would definitely recommend Achten's to anyone who needs their roof replaced.

From the first contact with salesperson Darin Howard until the finished full re-roofing project, I was impressed with the quality and professionalism displayed by the Achten's Roofing employees. Unlike several others that bid on the job, they have their act together. Quality work and a thorough clean up job in just three days.
