Aloft Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga

This was such a good concept when it was new. Now it needs a lot of maintenance, so is a relative bargain. Amazing that this occurs under the W and Marriott brands. Water rained down from pipes in the lobby. Room A/C was possessed. Broken fitness equipment. Shower handle rickety. Pot smell seeped into room from adjacent stairway. Room keys were cancelled on second night of our stay. Great location, though.

The hotel has a nice, trendy look to it. Font lobby is nice, with a bar, pool table and small area to buy food. The room was nice, clean and comfortable, and the hotel was in a convenient location for our planned activities. My group did have an issue in that we booked a room with 2 beds and were given a room with only 1 bed. And of course there were no double bed rooms available to switch to. Had to knock off some stars for that.

Pretty but not the most functional room. This room was very contemporary in design. The front desk is not the first thing you see. We came in during happy hour so you walk in to see the bar and live music. Live music was great. I wish the bar was off a little from the entrance. Room was clean and bed was very comfy. The shower head was wonderful. I did not like the layout it really needed an extra chair. I wish it had a better area to eat. Lighting was also dim. I almost gave it 3 stars but staff was really nice and location was close to a lot of things.

I’m in town for a business meeting and all I needed to relax for one night before flying back after an exhausting week. During the check in we were told the bar was open until 11. We came to the bar at 10:15 and were told they were closed. She, the bartender said she had to be somewhere at 10:30 so she was leaving. She was standing in front of us but refused to serve. Then we complained to the front desk and they said “oh well I guess she’s closing early today. Sorry” Then after bringing my own drink, I needed a plastic cup which I grabbed from the edge of the bar. As I did I had this guy with a threatening tone and gesture aggressively came towards me and said “hey bro, you can’t do that! If you need something ask her (pointing towards the front desk)” Later on I found that he was the boyfriend picking up the bartender. No matter what, an early-leaving-bartender’s boyfriend should not have the right to want to fight hotel’s customers. A few minutes after the bartender and boyfriend left the hotel, my friend overheard the other two associates saying “oh he’s lucky that he (boyfriend) wasn’t here little longer or he would kick his ass.” And just a reminder, this is all over the bar closing 45min early and we wanted ice. UPDATE: the very next day, managers responded to my concerns and I was very pleased with how much they cared. They seemed genuinely concerned and embarrassed about the situation. I will certainly give them one more shot.

Hotel looks super trendy, the rooms were nice and spacious. The service was questionable. When we got there the remote to the TV didn't work and it took a few hours for the guy to come back with 3 other remotes before figuring out the problem. It was at least entertaining. The breakfast bar was stocked with tons of cool snacks. The hotel also had an off-site room service, we ordered cheesecake :)
