A bit of a complicated review. On the one hand, Dr. Bistrain, his wife (acting as receptionist) and his assistant were all very nice and supportive of patients making their own decisions about their care. The office is in a relatively convenient location, and is quite nice. On the other hand, there were a few odd things. The assistant was not very good at mitigating pain caused by the x-raying process from the thing you have to hold in your mouth. This part is always somewhat painful the times I've done it, but this was particularly bad and it didn't feel like she sympathized with my pain. However the real kicker is that Dr. Bistrain continually insisted that I must have gotten 3 or so fillings when I was a young kid—something that is downright false. Never needing fillings is something I was rather proud of, and honestly I began to doubt my own memory because of his insistence. It wasn't until I later mentioned it to my mom that I was validated in my belief. So with that, it's a bit hard for me to trust a dentist who can't tell if you've had fillings or not, no matter how nice they are.

I came to Antonio after having some mediocre work done by another dentist in town, and Antonio replaced three fillings that had fallen out after only a year or two, as well as re-installed a crown that the other guy had done poorly. Going from a not so great dentist to a fantastic one has really made me appreciate the value of top-notch dentistry. I don't have insurance but rather pay out of pocket so i have to think about every dollar spent, and i know that it's going to come back to me in the long run. It's an investment that pays for itself over time. Antonio is the best dentist I've ever had, and he is also very affordable. Specifically, i like that whenever he is working on me, he takes the time to explain everything so that I can have a clear mental picture of what is going on in my mouth. This gives me the confidence that we are making good decisions together, and also gives me insight into upholding my end of the maintenance bargain. He's a real craftsman. I have recommended him to many friends.

Dr. Bistrain does a great job. Most thorough teeth cleaning I have ever had.

My whole family and I have been going to Dr. Bistrain for years. He is very a very good dentist and a nice person too. I definitely recommend him!

Great dentist, only one I know that does his own teeth cleaning, so he gets a really long look at your teeth. Best dentist I've had, period. Doesn't bug about teeth whitening....
