This is just another scumbag organization. When you try and leave the gym, it just keeps getting worse. They get one star because 0 doesn't register in a 5-star system. The introduction I received at this gym was embarrassing--the girl who did it was clearly going through the ropes and not at all interested in what either my girlfriend or myself needed in a gym, nor did she care what our long-term goals where. She was staring off while counting how long we planked and couldn't give a care in the world even though we just spent over $1000 for a year membership. OK, whatever, I've been lifting for years and I guess I didn't really need anything from that interaction anyway. The facility is mediocre and there isn't enough equipment to satisfy more than two serious gym attendees at a time. There is no protocol for weight lifting and no-one encourages proper gym use; no-one is held accountable for cleaning the machines when they are done or putting weights away--even when employees are onsite! When I saw employees in the building I was never, not even once, asked how I was doing, offered a tip on my form, given an idea on how to work towards a goal. Nothing. I guess you have to set up private personal trainer sessions to get anything out of them, even a hello. Finally, I moved away and didn't think I would have to worry about Anytime Fitness charging me because, well, I signed a ONE YEAR membership and paid in full. Not only am I now being charged an automatic monthly membership, but I have to go through corporate BS at ABC who Anytime Fitness has apparently outsourced their cancellation policies to. I have to write a written letter, sent through certified mail, requesting a stop of service (EVEN THOUGH I ONLY SIGNED UP FOR A YEAR) and--get this--it's going to take 30 days REGARDLESS which means I'm going to get charged ANOTHER month of service in the meantime. I disputed the charge at my bank and when I told the customer service rep at ABC about it she said that if I don't pay the charges ABC is going to turn me in to collections! Two years prior when I lived in Portland, OR I signed a one year membership at Anytime Fitness and I stopped getting charged IMMEDIATELY when the year was over. The guy who ran the place offered me tips when I saw him in the gym, showed me some new techniques, offered me diet advice, and never pushed a sale. If I didn't have to move for business I would have stayed there for life. And when I left, there was no problem! No phone call, no ABC, no scumbag automatic charge, no written letter, no certified mail, no nothing. Just end of business transaction The organization is garbage. They don't care about you, they don't care about your success, and they certainly don't care about what you need in a gym. They just want to snake you in and get you to forget about the charges until one day you want to leave and then they'll squeeze you for everything they can. Every month that goes by you will get hit with a dollar charge here, ten dollar charge there, all in the name of 'interest' or 'processing' or 'annual' or whatever. I am going to absolutely every avenue I can to spread the word NOT to do business with this organization. I STRONGLY encourage you to go elsewhere--you are much better off going through the University of Iowa gym because there are WAY more machines, it's much cleaner, they sell smoothies and snacks at a bar when you're done, they have a pool, basketball area, jogging area, and they DON'T SCREW YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE.

Please note that if you want to discontinue your membership, you have to go through more hoops than you can imagine and then they still take your money. Oh and by the way, the only way I can post this is if I give them a Star - what the heck.

DO NOT JOIN. LITERALLY A RACKET. The financial company ABC Financial will not let you leave. I've been a member of this gym for 2 years but have to cancel because I am moving out of state. When I called to cancel I: 1. Was told I had to call ABC Financial instead. 2. Had to sit through a ridiculously long wait period to get to an actual human because their automated call system does not have any account management options. 3. Found out that I actually had to send a written cancellation notice to some P.O. Box in Arkansas through CERTIFIED MAIL (which costs 7x more than regular mail) and requires you to go during business hours to a certified mail provider. 4. I will continue to be charged until 30 days AFTER they receive and process this letter, however long that will be. Regular mail is good enough for the IRS but not for ABC Financial only because they want to squeeze every last dime out of you they can - a racket. Save yourself the trouble and go to another gym. This gym isn't worth all that.

IN NO WAY should you join this gym. They use a third party management system that demands you send a CERTIFIED postal letter in order to stop billing you. Even after getting it they STILL kept charging me. It's not worth it even if the facilities are well done. Impossible to get rid of.

Horrible company. They do there billing through another company and you get charged for things you did not sign up for. Save your money and go some where else. The owner is very rude I recomende you never sign up here.
