First off, the place & location are great. I went after working midnights so I was very hungry and tired. It was around 9:30am, I saw salmon croquettes and was very disappointed that they were out of them so early in the morning. I ordered the shrimp/grits and I didn't like the look but tried them anyway. When the waitress inquired about how I liked everything, I was honest and explained that I didn't care for the red sauce, which appeared to be marinara or spaghetti sauce which in my opinion is not a good combination for grits. I only had one bite so I said I would try and see. I took another fork full and was done. It just wasn't for me. I asked for my check and at this point I felt the waitress should have offered me to try something else, but I got my check and paid. I was exhausted and just ready to go. I left with thoughts of giving them one more try. When I got home, I decided to call instead of writing review and asked for the Manager. Doug came on, I explained my experience with emphasis on being tired more than anything and my willingness to give them another try. I shared how many friends and coworkers look for restaurant referrals from me all the time. He obviously either didn't care or didn't listen to me. He pointed out that the shrimp and grits is their most popular item and told me that I should have spoke to them while I was there. UNBELIEVABLE!! I was exhausted and didn't like my food and still paid. I was trying to give a courtesy call instead of posting a review. There was no apologetic tone in his voice nor did I acknowledge any evidence that he cared. I'm not sure if Doug is the owner or manager; however, he should be very careful about having a mediocre attitude with ANY customer. You have no idea who I know and how large your establishment could have blown up just by a few calls. I really do wish the best for the restaurant but me and my entourage will not be coming.

I wanted to try them out since I see the restaurant is fairly new. First, let me say the ambiance and setup of the restaurant is nice. However, I ordered chicken & waffle meal with a side of cheese grits. $14.22. The menu states chicken breast, it was only 4 teeny tiny chicken strips with one waffle. Cheese slightly sprinkled on top of my grits. To top it off, I was trying to pay with $20, there was no change. 😳 The young lady told me to just give her my quarter and she’ll keep the pennies. 😳 I could not keep the To-Go menu AND they charge a 12% gratuity for take out orders. LoL. Nice try but I won’t be back! 👎🏾🤷🏾‍♀️

The place is decorated well. Very unique. I loved the tables and chairs. The music was very nice and relaxing. I enjoyed the pancakes. They were delicious. The shrimp was very good but didnt care for the grits. The red sauce was not complementary. The grits were overcooked. The two Ladies and young gentleman was very pleasant and made me feel like I was a special guest. Thank you and I will return soon. I saw some fish on another table. It looked delicious. I need to come back to try for myself!

I ordered the Arize chicken and waffles; the menu states "Golden fried chicken breast" on top of their waffle. The reason why I rated only two stars was: while the taste of my meal (and service) was on point, I did not expect the four (4) tiniest strips of chicken, when the menu misleads you to believe you'll get a chicken breast. I want to believe that other menu options will be better; thankfully I am an out-of-towner so I am confident that I will not return.

Great breakfast place! Family run, Friendly, good food, fast & clean. Highly recommended. Asked for fried onions in my scrambled eggs and unlike other places, they actually did fry them. Nice!
