I have to say I am puzzled about how I was treated at this facility. I originally went for a diabetic eye exam, and discovered I needed cataract surgery on my left eye. I was first seen by Dr. Allelo, then, I was changed to another doctor because they told me there was an insurance problem. I was on Medicare, and switched to Aetna. The day before my appointment, I got a call telling me that my surgery had to be rescheduled, to another center, because of my Aetna insurance. If one office takes Aetna, they all take Aetna. They are even in Aetna's provider network. The surgery went well, but there was supposed to be a follow up laser procedure, that I made an appointment for. I found out the day before that I would have to pay another $195 for the surgery center. Aetna said I shouldn't have to pay a second time. I was willing to pay the additional charge, and made an appointment for October. Meanwhile, I had been making payments on my bill, since February. I received my statement for July, and used the bill pay at Wells Fargo bank as usual. When I got my August statement, it reflected the payment, but I got a call from the doctor's billing office. They told me they did not receive my payment, and we discovered that I had put Phoenix, instead of Scottsdale on the check address. They had been receiving payments since February, so I had no idea. When I tried to explain that they had given me credit for the payment, the lady in the billing department became argumentative, insisting that she did not make a mistake, and never sent back payments. My bank received the check back, and credited my account, and I sent another check. I received a registered letter on 9/13, that included the check, which they voided, and a notice that said I owed them nothing, and that they did not want me to come back. Their billing department made a complete error, and is accusing me of being a problem. The mistake was in my favor, and I tried to tell the lady that she had credited a payment that she sent back to my bank. This company has too many people to deal with before you see a doctor. The reason they wrote of the $84.64 that I owed, is because the lady in the billing department, out of spite, threw a tantrum and thought she would mess up not only my bank account, but my surgery as well. I never chose this company for eye exams, I was referred by my doctor. I have had cataract surgery before, and it was just not done the way they do it at this facility. I only saw the doctor, and the nurse for my previous procedures, and he did the laser procedure in the office. This company just does not like customers. They could care less about your comfort, only the money. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is just not professional, and they don't post the payments correctly. They simply are not that nice. You can do better. Have a great day!
