If I could give zero stars I would. I am blown away that this place is still in business. They are the rudest, most incompetent staff I have ever encountered, and wish I had never went into this store and purchased something. Within hours of making a purchase, realized it was not going to work in the room we initially set out for. We called to cancel and was told no and that if they would consider it, there would be a 30% restocking fee. A restocking fee? The furniture never even came off of a shelf, it's not scheduled for delivery for weeks, but they want to "restock" it. Then it comes to your house, DAMAGED, then to get the furniture returned you have to pay a delivery charge for pick up. They give you a date and they don't come. You make arrangements with work and they don't show up! Then if you cancel delivery, you are charged. If they decide the day doesn't work for them, that's fine, no fault of their's. The staff is so rude, they hang up the phone on you when you're trying to deal with things if they don't want to have to help you. Beware of this store, go elsewhere. I then tell people my story and they are like oh my gosh, my family had nothing but problems too. In this type of economy, business should be very good to their customers. If you have a problem with this store, don't even bother asking for a manager or the rude girls behind the counter, call corporate. With all the furniture stores there are in this area, do yourself a HUGE favor and shop elsewhere. Most everything they have in their store, Value City right next door has the same and the service is exceptional. ** I would like to add that corporate was extremely helpful during this situation and stood by their customer. They offered the most helpful solution, had great customer service, and made sure I was satisfied. Jessica, from corporate, THANK YOU.

Cant find my first review so Ill post again. ???Ashley Furniture store in Hagerstown Md has a very rude delivery service dept. We have bought several thousand dollars of furniture in the last several months. First we bought a living room set which took 10 weeks to be delivered even though we were told 4 to 8 weeks. But we thought we'd give it another try but again we were treated bad. Last week we received a call saying that are dining room table and bed set which we paid cash for would be delivered this Saturday. Great ... nope, today we get a call saying its coming tomorrow. My husband explained that we were told Saturday and that we both work and cant be there tomorrow. He was told that if they took if off the truck we would have to pay for another delivery charge. What!! We were told Saturday not Tuesday. Why be so rude to good customers! Now my husband has to lose work to wait until they show up and hopefully they do but who knows since lie and change dates. Word of advice get them to email you or put it in writing. Their word is not to be trusted. Ill check later to see if this review disappears too!

I needed to purchase two end tables and decided to go with Ashley Furniture. What a mistake! When I ordered I was told that they quote 2-8 weeks but generally everything comes in about 3 and since they were just end tables it shouldn't be a problem. They didn't come in until 6 weeks and when I went to pick them up, I was surprised to learn that I had to put them together myself. When I questioned the staff at the desk, I was told they only assemble if they are delivering, but I was not offered delivery. I certainly did not save any money having to put them together myself. Also, one of the end tables is damaged and I have no choice but to let them try to get another within the 8 week time frame as they virtually have a no refund policy. I feel that the sales force should let people know that the furniture will have to be assembled by the customer. I did not expect this store to be like Ikea or a big box retailer. I thought they had more customer service, But as other reviewers have stated, they only care about locking you into a sale. Once they have you, they don't give a crap. They even tried to tell me that all furniture stores operate the same way and do not assemble. I guess they thought I would have never dealt with any other stores, but I have shopped at others in the area and I have never had to assemble my furniture. I know first hand that other stores have much better customer service and I am kicking myself for coming to Ashley in the first place. This practice of this store is deception. BEWARE!!

"2-4 weeks is typical delivery". HAHA. They made it seem like I was going to get my sectional the first week of my move in date. Ordered my sectional Feb 12th and here it is March 20th and they're telling me the first week in April. I get the contract says 2-8 weeks but don't tell someone 2-4 when obviously it's not happening. I love having an apartment with no furniture! Definitely won't be getting my business ever again. Not to mention to staff is very rude every time I call to ask the new delivery date. "We have notes saying we've told you multiple times the estimate can change" okay? I want my $3000 couch!

Terrible Experience! We bought a new house and were excited to buy new furniture. We purchased a black king sized bed with drawer storage underneath, 2 dressers, and 2 night stands. The bed arrived in separate shipments which was initially very annoying. Once the bed finally came it was marked up and they painted over the marks with black paint to hide the damage. The bed lasted 3 months before it collapsed in the middle of the night snapping the beds side boards. It was made extremely cheaply. We have a 3 year warranty on the bed so we contacted customer service and were given a representative by the name of Courtney. Courtney told us they would not be replacing the bed pieces. We called her manager and he was more willing to help us but we still had to deal with Courtney. It took over 4 months to finally have our broken bed pieces replaced and put back together because they were so adamant and honestly cheap con artists trying to scam us out of receiving our warranty. When the men came to repair the broken pieces they did not speak any English and tramped up and down my newly carpeted steps with their sneakers on. They also left my front door hang open for over 45 minutes while they repaired the bed and I have a cat that I had to lock in a room as a result of their negligence. Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. This is just a friendly warning of my unfortunate horror story. Learn from my mistake.
