A Craveable Experience – Aspen Kitchen is of-the-moment, authentic & regional. Paying homage to the craft of cooking & sharing hearty, rustic American food

Story

Nestled in the core of downtown Aspen, steps away from the ski-lifts and surrounded by world class boutiques, Aspen Kitchen pays tribute to the heritage and traditions of the West with a warm inviting atmosphere and an adventurous spirit befitting its legendary location.

The restaurant features an elegant, second level dining room surrounded by three walls of windows that allow 180° views of town and the mountains with warm, rustic wooden design elements accented by brightly colored tapestries. Guests are greeted by a glass-enclosed dry aging room before entering the vibrant space anchored by a bustling open “action” kitchen and a luxurious bar that showcases an extensive wall-mounted wine collection.

Executive Chef Emil David has developed a menu that celebrates contemporary American cuisine using classic technique and premium local ingredients in a variety of exciting dishes ranging from snacks and small plates like Escargot Fritters and Tots & Caviar to hearty entrees including Boulder Natural Chicken, Colorado Striped Bass, Roasted Suckling Pig, and Prime Beef from the patented dry-aging program, before concluding with a decadent selection of seasonal desserts.

Guests can also enjoy a hand-crafted cocktail, glass of wine or beer, and a selection of light bites at the bar or relax outside in the restaurant’s outdoor “garden” - an expansive patio perched above town with unbeatable views, a dedicated outdoor bar, and communal fire pits with lounge seating.

Great ambiance and delicious food. Service is a little inconsistent based on my 5 visits. Get the house made Ricotta!

I've had the pleasure to dine at Aspen Kitchen on several occasions but wanted to take a moment to review them because of yet another exemplary meal. I dined with 7 others today for Sunday brunch. I do believe it was the best breakfast I have experienced in Aspen. We had amazing views dining outdoors. The staff was very accommodating and asked if we preferred sun or shade. We started off with cocktails and appetizers. The clothesline pork belly with lavender honey glaze was a great conversation piece. We loved the asparagus and sweet pea salad. The house made ricotta appetizer surely pleased us all. The entrees were equally divine and not a bite went uneaten. I am a local, and hate to share how divine this place is but they deserve the recognition!

We ate at Aspen Kitchen during the Food and Wine Classic. The service was the worse we got the entire weekend. The waiters do not tell you the price of the specials so beware. I ordered a glass of wine that was terrible and the waiter offered to bring something else...which I gladly took. But I was still charged for the bad glass of wine (that I did not drink). The food is just not worth the prices they are charging, especially if the service is going to be so lacking.

-venue was really nice. -service was good, but the waiter tells you every thing is great. So no honest assessment. -spring onion soup was OK, not great -caviar / tater app was stupid, its subsidising toast points with tater totes. -30 day dry age ribeye, first came out rare, instead of med rare. It just tasted funny. Yes, I 've had dry aged beef before. -fillet was boring, 316 much better. -the cauliflower thing is actually funny and sad, because you spend almost $30 for it -peach cobbler thing was Ok. I wish I had gone to 316, Bosq, kinechi ,rustique, or red lobster!!!
