We love the Best Western Hotel on Richmond Highway in Alexandria VA. This hotel is not far from DC and other attractions. This is our 3rd stay with them, since our son and family are living in this area. We have always been treated very well, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the bed (s) are so comfortable, we fall fast asleep as soon as we hit the pillows. The breakfast is always delicious.....which is included with your stay. Love the waffles......nothing like a warm breakfast...and if you don't want the usual eggs, bacon etc....they have toast, muffins etc, plus hot oatmeal and also cold cereal....as well as juices, tea and coffee. Even thou, you are on Richmond Highway, the hotel itself is very quiet, you don't hear any of the traffic. You also don't hear other guests once you are in your room. Overall we recommend this hotel if you are staying in the Alexandria area

The worst hotel experience that I have ever had. We stayed here September 1-4, 2017 in room 225-A. Our Authorization was held in my bank account and was returned on the day of check-out. However, when we went to check out, my card was declined twice even though it had enough money to clear. My friend was able to pay with his credit card, which was fine, but then when I checked my bank account to try to figure out why my card was declined, I saw that the hotel had charged me with a separate charge, a different amount from the original total. When we asked for an explanation from the staff, they told us that they didn't know why the charge was there because my card had already been declined. I asked to speak to a manager, and they called the manager, who would not come out to speak with us, and simply told the staff to tell us that it was another "authorization" charge, and that it would be refunded within 4-15 business days. We make minimum wage, and cannot afford to pay for a hotel room twice, especially when one of those charges is for a different amount than the original room total that we agreed to pay. Every time that we have called the hotel, we have not been given an explanation, and have been told that the amount will be refunded within 15 business days. Our bank can do nothing until the transaction status is changed from "pending" to "settled" so we have to wait 15 days for Best Western to decide whether or not to keep the money that they took after we had already paid for the room, with no explanation. Once that transaction is "settled" if we have not been refunded our bank will be filing a transaction dispute claim, which means that it will take another 90 days for that money to come back into my bank account. This is all happening even though we have documentation proving that my friend already paid for the room using his credit card. The manager will not talk to us, the staff tell us that we have to talk to our bank, and the bank can do nothing until Best Western moves one way or the other with the transaction. I have been a loyal Best Western visitor for almost ten years, but they have turned our vacation into a nightmare. These people are criminals. Do not stay here. If you stay here after reading this story, it's like you're inviting them to steal from you too.

The gentleman named Stacie at the front desk was so helpful during our stay. He helped us tremendously with transportation and was so pleasant to work with. Breakfast was super, not the average "mystery meat" continental breakfast. Only thing lacking was benches or sitting area outside. Overall, a great stay, highly recommended. .

Clean and comfy, breakfast was great!!! Some noises drilling but it didn't last long. Staff were friendly and attentive. Parking was tight but available. A bench out front would be nice:)

Friendly front desk. Good Hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, biscuits, potatoes, waffles. Along with cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, donuts, etc. They had something for everyone. Rooms were clean, had fridge and microwave. Beds were comfy. I definitely recommend this hotel. Very convenient to Mount Vernon and about a 20 min car ride to DC.
