BTC took out two full page ads in the Twin Cities Bicycle Club newsletter summer 2017 and has NOT paid their $800 bill and does not return phone calls or emails.  I thought this was a reputable company but I am beginning! Are they in financial trouble?

This year in 2017 will be my 7th ride with BTC. Every year has been an outstanding experience! Last year in fact when I got to the registration I was testing my bicycle and I was having bad issues with my Di2 electronic shifting, it had stopped working. One of the mechanics on hand had to almost totally take my bike apart to discover where the issue was. They found it after about 1 hours worth of work. If they hadn't have found it I would have had to go home without riding the tour. Also, the aid stations area great, the food is good and the staff members are extra friendly. I even won a free jersey last year! My buddy and I are going again and are looking forward to it. We have been training all winter for it and now are finally getting outside and will be ready for the ride! Jim Urban

Stay away from this tour! One of BTC's volunteers ran into my rental car and the director tried to spin it that it was my fault for opening my door and leaving it opened while I was IN MY CAR. Long story short, he promised to reimburse me for my deductible and hasn't responded at all. If he won't do the right thing with something as cut and dried as this, don't entrust him with your equipment, belongings or family. On the tour last year, the cause ran through a long stretch of loose gravel that a lot of riders went down on, and that many had to be rescued from. The back story is that the director- Kent Powell- had an argument with one of the public works directors in the area and that stretch of road was graveled on purpose to make it treacherous.  Even the mechanics behaved  badly. When I asked for some help with my Di2 (electronic) derailleur, I was kind of rudely informed that they didn't do those there. Di2 has been around for a while now. So again, stuck in Crested Butte, there's not much I could do. So the organization is just a little hairball right now. I would avoid these guys.

Great ride, great organization, good aid stations and routes. Friendly people.  Very memorable.

A good tour overall, but is getting more disorganized and chaotic every year.
