I needed an emergency travel document because my passport had expired, and I didn't realize until I was at SFO airport. My original flight was on a Saturday, which was unfortunate because this office is only open Mon-Fri. Anyhow, I booked an appointment online for the follow Tuesday (only booking available), but in responding to the email confirmation I got Sunday evening pleading for a Monday appointment (because my flight was at 5pm Monday), I was called on Monday morning around 8:30am confirming I could come in at 11am for an appointment (you can't get to the office without an appointment). The office is within the Citigroup Center building. Go to the reception and as long as you have an appointment they will let you up to the correct floor. They were happy with my carrying my bags up to the office. Once on the correct floor, find a door labeled '851 Consular Section' and there will be a counter with someone waiting for you inside. With all the correct documentation and a passport photo, I was given my emergency travel document within 30 mins of getting there.

Worst embassy in the world. Need to pay to email or call the staff. What's worse is they don't reply even though you paid. I will give it zero if I could

This location deserves zero stars! What terrible service for British  citizens living in the U.S. The staff are incredibly rude and condescending and really don't listen to what you are saying, but instead keep telling you they cannot be of assistance. What a waste of my time calling in. Don't bother!

Rough stuff ever on emergency line! This lady even does not understand the case and did not do anything to understand! Just yelled and spoke with me very rude!
