I'm amazed with the good service, I came to this place 10 year ago and it was a nightmare, but today was a different story. Nice people, helpful, and the building was clean [paper copies are not required any more.]

I had a great experience at the SF Mexican Consulate. I live midpoint between SJ and SF, and since I needed a tourist visa ASAP - one early Friday morning I headed to the San Jose consulate only to be told that tourist visas were processed on Mondays and Tuesdays only (even though the automated phone system states Mon - Fri). So then I decided to drive all the way to the SF consulate. Once at the consulate, I explained my situation to the visa officer (Abia). She was very polite, courteous and understanding and processed my paperwork and gave me my passport stamped with the visa- all in under 30 minutes!!! She did mention that if there was a pile of other applications to process, it would have taken longer, but I was so grateful that she went the extra mile and saved me another trip for the passport pick-up!! The security officer and the cashier were really nice as well!
