Due to particular circumstances, I deal with various consulates at all times. Us Guatemalans should feel proud. I just had the best customer service interaction by phone. I spoke with Flor, and not only was she polite and patient, she was kind enough to research answers for me. She kept apologizing for this, even though she was providing excellent customer services. I rather she research my questions, than give me wrong info just to get me off the phone quicker. Thank you for this.

We just left the consular de Guatemala and after reading the reviews,  I was expecting rudeness and negativity but it was just the opposite.
Everyone there was friendly and very helpful.  Nice people!

Question....Isn't there a spot online where you can schedule an appointment for renewal of a Guatemalan passport??? Or do I need to call?

I want to go renew my passport do i have to have a appointment or can i go and be in line before they open?

After reading many bad reviews, I went with low expectations but either they changed the staff recently or I got lucky.

Went to renew passport and ID and was done in 45 minutes with the place full.  Every single staff member was efficient and friendly, including the consul (she came out her office to thank and greet everyone).  

First staff member was making sure we all got the documents needed.
Staff memebers 2 & 3 were super fast confirming the forms were filled correctly and processing.
Staff member 4 was super fast taking the pictures, finger prints and finalizing the process.

Other than the parking issue (welcome to San Francisco) the people working here deserve 5 stars.  

My only suggestion would be to update phone numbers (and have an operator dedicated to answering) and to update their email address.
