My husband has rented a car 3 weeks in a row due to unforeseen transportation issues. We used budget because we thought we could trust them instead we were robbed. Everyone knows that if your employed you will never make it to return a car in time in Houston traffic. So even after it was okayed to drop off after hours we were still charged for an extra day without a care or concern from budget. I know I should have checked my acct very closely but after speaking with someone I would never imagine they would still just charge my acct as if I kept the car an extra day. Needless to say they just lost a customer and I will make sure that my family and close friends never rent from there again. I guess they needed the money. Very shady and crooked business people.

Summary: The staff was unprofessional and company charged extra fees for a mistake they made (changed my discount unbeknownst to me). I would exercise caution before renting here and be prepared to double check the billing. I would not rent here again.  

Details: I am a USAA member and booked the rental through USAA. The car was prepaid and only had to pick up the car. I called the office the day before pick-up to verify my reservation was received. The staff rushed me off the phone telling me that they have a lobby full of customers and were too busy to answer my questions. 

I picked up the car the following day and returned the car as planned (after hours on Sunday). I contacted the office on Monday to ensure the car was checked back in. The staff informed me there would be an additional charge however, they could not tell me what the charge was for.  

I called customer service where I was then informed that the agent who checked the car out to me removed my USAA discount and gave me a different and lesser discount and I was being charged for the difference. I did not ask the agent to remove the discount and was never informed that changes were being made to my reservation. I expressed that I should not be charged for a change that I was not made aware of nor did I approve. I was told that I would be getting a refund for their mistake.

The staff was very professional and accommodating. Unfortunately, the car I had reserved nearly a month beforehand was not present at pick-up time. Had to wait an extra 30 minutes or so for them to pick up the car. Not that big a deal but also not deserving of 5 stars.

Super fast service! We ordered a car and arrived 5 mins later. The agent already had the car waiting for us in the front!
