Agent took the time to help me get a car that meets my needs and at the price point I wanted.

I reserved a full size vehicle online and went to the Farmington airport to pick it up. The very inexperienced and untrained worker there told me the car they had for me was a Suzuki Forenza. This car is a compact (as confirmed by Budget Corporate and the manufacturer).
 
I told her this and she claimed it was what 'they' considered a full size. When i protested she got her manager (Rachel) on the phone who confirmed the claim. She then offered to 'upgrade' me to a Ford 500 (which is actually a full-size) for $20 a day extra. I declined and took the Forenza even though I had to drive 4 other large adult males 2 hours away. It was a very cramped and uncomfortable experience. 

When I returned the car not only was I charged for a full size depite being given a compact, I was charged $40 more than my confirmed price given online. There was no explanation provided, the same untrained worker told me that's just what it cost for the car I reserved. When I called to speak with Rachel on Monday am she informed me that although Budget Corporate may consider the Forenza a compact, they are only affiliated with Budget Corporate by name and the entity that owns and operates Budget in the 4 corners area MAKES THEIR OWN RULES. 

So, to be sure we all understand this, it does not matter what kind of car you reserve online. It doesn't matter what price you are quoted. You may receive a much smaller car and pay a lot more than you are expecting.

If you have a need, as I did, for a specific class of car you should look to another rental agency. If you are accustomed to paying the price you have been quoted and not almost twice as much you should use a different rental agency. 

Be warned: this Budget location is crooked and should be avoided, perhaps even investigated and shut down. I have filed a complaint with Budget Corporate and would suggest others who have had similar experiences do the same.
