I am driving to California from Eastern North Carolina. I walked in around 10 pm from driving all day. After requesting a room and mentioning my service animal the man behind the counter Demanded I show him my papers for my dog.  Before I could tell him it was in the Uhaul The same man began to repeat over and over about the dogs Papers. I have never been treated so rudely.  There was no need to raise voices or to speak with hands waiving angrily in the air. I have done nothing but asked to stay. My German Shepherd who is better trained than he was is incredibly frightened as he screamed at her "I do not want to see your dog!!!!" She is 1 and a half and does not deserve to be screamed at! I am teaching her people DON'T SUCK. and the damage done will take allot of time to calm. Learn to control yourself out of respect for others. That man should be ashamed of himself.

I don't know who has been giving this dump ratings above 1 star, but it must have been family members!  Where do I start?  Let's go with the positives first.  The price was $56. Cheap but in hindsight, I would have gladly paid considerably more than endure that experience.  I was able to park my truck in front of the room.  Now for the negatives.  The motel is approximately 30 yards from a train track that is between two cross streets.  What this means is, all trains have to sound their horns when approaching each cross street, which is twice at 2 a.m., 3 a.m. 3:30 a.m. 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.  And, you get the added noise of the train on the tracks.  The room STUNK!  It had a terrible smell!  The layout was the worst I've ever seen!  The vanity is in the living room next to the TV, so if you're brushing your teeth, shaving, etc., you're part of the entertainment.  The bathroom entry faces the beds and the light switch is on the outside of the wall.  This means if someone in the room gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, they have to turn on the light and then open the door, so the person in the nearest bed is blinded by an extremely bright light blasting them!  While I was shaving the next morning, I felt something on my food and looked down to find a cockroach dancing a jig!  Thank goodness it was me and not my daughter.  When I later pointed this out to the motel owner and showed him the roach in the waste basket, he said nothing.  And finally, he collected $3 for the key deposit.  When I took the key back to him the next morning, he came down to the room and COUNTED THE TOWELS to make sure I hadn't taken any!  We're not talking about new, thick bath towels.   These were old, worn-out, rough towels that I would use for automotive rags.  This was truly adding insult to injury!  I'm sorry I can't give this a negative rating. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Motel 8 or Howard Johnson's.  Same price but they HAVE to be better than this place!  HORRIBLE!  The only honest reviewer was Katy Pine.

Clean, hard beds, no control over heat in bathroom, we didn't take a shower. It was too cold

Affordable rooms, recently renovated, very clean and friendly service. Much better than I had expected for the price.
