About

It began as one of the ten original slave dwellings of the Monroe Plantation. Now,
through the efforts, ideas, love, sweat and patience of friends and family, you
are able to enjoy a small sampling of Southern Louisiana history, cuisine and culture.

Story

As one looks around upon entering, The Cabin gives off an aura of authenticity
and realism. The original cypress roof is still visible from inside, and even the
spider webs of 100 years ago are still clinging to the ceiling. The Cabin serves local
Creole and Cajun cuisine, and has been host to various celebrities, such as Tom Bergeron, Tyra Banks, Sean Penn, Gary Coleman, Jaleel White, Brad Pitt, Jude Law, John Schneider, and more. We offer a relaxed, casual atmosphere at both lunch
and dinner.

Truly a one of a kind experience! I would highly recommend for the history, atmosphere and the delicious food!! Definitely worth the trip and very unique. It is basically half museum half restaurant with all the collector's items displayed throughout the place. Most of the buildings are more than 100 years old and still have original wooden walls and roofing. They will tell you all about the history and serve you some of the best southern comfort food I've had in the south. We will be going back the first chance we get :)

Delicious authentic food. I loved the atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The chef came out to ask if we were enjoying everything. The buttermilk pie was out of this world. You must try it.

Food was pretty good but the service and ambience were fantastic. Our waitress was Charlie and she was attentive and as sweet as she could be. The ambience is set in a Cajun historical theme and was fantastic. We truly en joyed ourselves.

First time in a while I’ve been here. Lots of new people- and not for the better. Waitress tried to sell me on more expensive menu items at first. Then I was rushed & asked if I wanted desert after taking 2 bites of my meal. Then she wanted to take my plates before I was even done eating - had fork in my hand and food was on my plate. And I had to ask for corn bread - after my meal came. It used to come out first - and I never had to actually ask for it. Very unimpressed. The food was still good. But I don’t like the direction the place is headed. Sorry to say I won’t be back.

Great food, service, ambience. Had crayfish etouffe, Cabin special and highly recommend both. Corn muffins were also great!
