Story

We serve French country cuisine with Maryland seafood specialties in a cozy, romantic atmosphere. Open for more than 25 years, Cafe Normandie is one of the most romantic restaurants in Annapolis.

Our menu includes sandwiches, crepes, lobster ravioli with crabmeat and our specialty: roast salmon with blueberries.

In 2008, we gained our Sustainability Stewardship with the City of Annapolis, making it a leader in the city with our green program. We have cut our waste by 90% through recycling and composting. We have replaced cloth tablecloths with recycled marble tops and uses only biodegradable carry-out items.

Our long-term plans include the ability to grow our own produce, flowers and the like at the Evennou's farm in Upper Marlboro.

Loved it! We went twice in one weekend: for dinner and lunch. The food tended to be rich, but I expect that with French. Quaint atmosphere and excellent service. My only real complaint about the food was that my quail was tough. The restroom is downstairs, which was fine for us but may pose a problem for some with disabilities? I didn't ask if there's an alternative.

This French restaurant is so cozy and warm, but never stuffy. Excellent food, wonderful service, and perfect drinks. Great wine and cocktail selection. Abundant menu options. This place isn't for the cheap night out though, so if you're looking for a nice dinner but less than $20 a person, you will need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, great for a nice evening out!

Still one of my favorite places in Annapolis. Food is consistently good. Extensive menu. Over the last 18 months or so there has been complete turnover of the wait staff. Wait staff has stabilized. At one time, my friends were recognized as a somewhat difficult party (we come from as far away as NE Baltimore and Ocean City so we are not always all on time for our reservation), but treated like a bunch of favored elderly aunts. No more. But, we start our interaction with our waiter by explaining our expectations and then all goes relatively well. The table in the front window is chilly in the winter.

Service is very poor. I visited with my sister on a Saturday for brunch. The place was pretty dead. There were only two other tables besides our. We were seated immediately and told our server would be right with us. I think we waited a good 10 mins before we got up and left. Twice I saw the servers walk in front of us. No one ever came to give us water or take a drink order. NO ONE came to our table. I could hear the 2 servers I saw chit chatting in the back. I could even see the kitchen staff just standing there, yawning. I could understand slow service if they were slammed, but they were not. So to the management, I'm not sure who you've hired, but they are slacking on the job and shooing customers away. I had high hopes given the mostly positive reviews, but was very disappointed.

Wonderfull experience! Very friendly staff and the owner Jean Louis is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Highly recommend the trout dish. Dinner was absolutely delicious!
